I was also disturbed by the fact that William changed his clothes weirdly. That is-- he had the grey mourning coat on with his mother in this ep-- changed to the unsuitable brown for the party and his turning-- then went home after becoming a vampire and changed back into the grey mourning coat? I would think that he would have gotten something new or still been in the brown!
Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness
[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!
It had been days and he probably got blood all over the brown coat.
the clarity that Spike has with regard to the demon vs his mother
But where does that leave Spike/William/demon? I thought that was a bit weird.
I liked that, although he thrilled in the kill, Spike was still a schmoop off the bat. A schmoop to whom love mattered from the get go.
I thought it was amazing how in days his accent went from Posh William's to the accent Spike has now.
But it was still William during the scenes with his mother. He didn't turn into Spike until later - in Yorkshire? - and I see Spike being a direct result of his Mother's taunting. Because she said he was still the same, and William was determined to be different.
I was thinking that if the thing with his mother hadn't happened, he would have wound up being another Dalton.
Yep.
And I love that he wanted his Mom to come along while he ravaged Europe.

I loved the look on Dru's eyes when he told her. "You want to bring your mother?" Bwah!
That was a refreshing change from FE!Dru. Loved it.
Loved Mom and was thrilled with the clarity that Spike has with regard to the demon vs his mother. Mmmm looking forward to watching again tonight.
See, I think Soul!Spike was wrong. I think Vamp!Mummy was being honest.
Also, I thought the "I just want you to know that" worked better on Angel, with the pillow.
I was very confused by Spike's suddent assertion that Human!Mom and Vamp!Mom were two completely separate entities. Despite it being canon, I've always had trouble swallowing it; the vampires in the Buffyverse tend to carry with them the psychological traits of the human.
Oh, and Buffy admitting offhandedly that she would let Dawn die now also bugged the hell out of me. Hello??? "The gift"? Not even two years ago?

Wrod. But it did set up a major HSQ. I was almost disappointed to see the principal left alive.

I didn't have a problem with that. She's supposed to have grown since then, and she's become big picture slayer.
