Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Luck!

Today, for the first time, I bought a plane ticket online. Yes, I am finally going on vacation. There was a great seat sale (still is, actually) at Air Canada's website, so it is cheaper for me to buy the ticket to and from Tennesse separately from the ticket from Tennessee to and from Texas. This is very exciting for me. The farthest south I've been on the continent is Pennsylvania, so this will be new and different. Yay vacation!

Yay 'Ouise! Do you have friends/ family in Texas? Tenn is where your friend Joanne is, right?

Yes, Joanne is visiting in TN then. I have a friend from university who has a post-doc in Texas, so I'll be visiting with him. I'm really looking forward to this trip. I hope I get to meet some Buffistas, too - I posted about it in Press.

A person's concepts should exceed their vocabulary, or what's a metaphor?

Last two weeks of Feb. in College Station, TX... I /could/ end up being in Austin, TX (maybe an hour's drive away) in that time frame. Wouldn't that be odd?

No, I'm not stalking you across the continent. I simply have friends in Austin and family in Houston who have been wanting to meet Jenny.

Ha! That's funny. If we're around and any local Buffistas want to meet, we could all get together. It would depend on how busy you are with family stuff. Quite the coincidence.

It is an interesting bit of timing. Still not sure if I'll be making the trip to Texas, depends on how the cashflow looks after I get down to Virginia and do what's necessary on the car I'm getting. But I shall try. And I'll be online for updates and such.
