She proposed some season 7 B/X, but Joss wouldn't go for it.
'Same Time, Same Place'
Buffy 4: Grr. Arrgh.
This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.
Rightly so, I think. It was nice to have one male character besides her father figure that she wasn't romantically involved with.

And it would have REALLY messed up the Xander/Spike storyline.
Wait. What do you MEAN that was just in my head?
On the other hand, it would have meant less Buffy fussing with Spike.
B/X - eww
X/S -- hmmmmm. Not least for the angst afterward.
B/X - eww
Really? I can imagine at least three or four different ways in which it would work for a little while. They definitely hinted at it at the beginning of S7 with them obviously displaying a comfortable sort of married couple ease taking care of Dawn.

Nummy Treat - practically canon. They were roommates, after all.
Could have worked != lack of ewww.

"Works" (for me - in this instance) stands for not ewww-ful.
I would have hated X/S with a blinding passion. It would have (for me) completely ruined a good chunk of Xander's characterization over the 7 seasons. If I weren't being killed by a head cold, I'd probably propose that his relationship with an Anya who was largely unrepentant for most of the time, was nearly as bad.

As much as I would have loved to see B/X, I never would have wanted it for a "little while" thing. It would have had to be a big commitment (and better to only come to fruition toward the very end of the series, like the last 5 episodes), for me to accept it. They were too dear to one another, for it to have worked for me, any other way--with the possible exception of it happening in season 5, soon before Buffy died. In that case, I could have accepted it not lasting through her resurrection.

How would it have been ewwwy for you, Plei?

Visceral gut reaction to the character originally the main avatar of the creator getting the girl. I would have stopped watching.
Also, I am squicked by the trope of Loyal Friend Finally Gets Girl After Years of Yearning. It fills me with acute nausea, as it appears to imply that friendship is merely a thinly disguised quest for poontang. (Note: I also hate it when the genders are reversed, and wanted to throw things at the screen when viewing Some Kind of Wonderful.)
