an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

didn't someone say, "From now on, every girl who can be a slayer, will be a slayer," or something like that? I think that's the bit that did the jossing of Fray

Well, no one said she had to be right. This is the girl who still thinks that she killed Angel and that the Slayer line runs through her.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Also, that line is in the middle of an inspirational speech. By the end, neither we nor the potentials were paying much attention to those (and I'm skeptical about the writers...)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also, that line is in the middle of an inspirational speech. By the end, neither we nor the potentials were paying much attention to those (and I'm skeptical about the writers...)

This conjures the image of the writers punching some buttons and pulling the lever on the Random Buffy Speech generator. The first two sentences would have a rhetorical flousish, and the last line would provide a cutaway to black, and the middle would be a mesmerizing stew of adjective hash.

I read recently that ASH is going to be starring in the BBC series, Monarch of the Glen, in its upcoming season. He'll be in the last four episodes playing a (presumably dashing) millionaire.

I can't wait.

Me too. I've been watching this show on DVD through Netflix and I've really gotten into it. I don't have BBC America, though, so who knows when I'll get to see the new stuff.

Did any folks here watch MI-5?

I just rented the DVD's a little while back, and was most thrilled to see ASH in one of the episodes. Took about 3 minutes for me to stop saying "GILES!!!", but after that I was completely taken by the character he was playing, which was definitely not Giles. Different accent, even. It was a great episode.

But man, the ending of that season pretty much devastated me. Anyone know if they did another season?

Trust my rage

I think there was only one season. I'm not sure, but I remember being disappointed (about the future for the series).
