I was thinking of Chosen and Fray after I posted that. I didn't remember joss saying he jossed himself, though. I think I just remember Plei saying it, and that could have been part of my problem with the definition. Plei writes fic I would swear was canon, if only I could find the right tape.

I don't remember saying it, FWIW, but I do remember seeing that Joss said it.
Jossing, as I learned it in the ficverse (like everything else, it would seem that there are multiple meanings to the term) means that something previously considered possible has been made unpossible within the confines of canon. This is a very sloppy definition, I realize.
Retcon's an old comics term, IIRC. (BTW, I'm still finding myself stuck in TLA and FLA land, despite work having been over for almost two weeks. It's a thing. Mea Culpa. And stuff. Honest, I'll start spelling things out in full ADN.)
