Just once, I would like a relationship to end without death or town-leaving. I would love for it to be Willow/Kennedy, but, whatever. A nice, kinda normal, "this really isn't working."
What about Xander and Anya? It was about as normal (though poorly timed) a breakup as one could get, living where they live.

Thomash, I think the timing kills it for me for fitting into that category, but, obviously, YMMV.

yeah, but the breakup was because she saw Xander and Willow kissing, not because she was impaled. That was incidental.
One of the great unanswered questions for me is "How did Willow convince Tara to bring Buffy back from the dead?" I know there was supposed to be this whole "She's in hell" theory, but Tara seemed very firmly on the side of "Bringing back the dead is a very bad idea" when it came to Joyce. Instead of starting the season with everyone on board with the resurrection, I think the drama would have been heightened if Willow was still trying to bring everyone in line.
Plus, as Thomash pointed out, they were in the Jossverse/Hellmouth, where normal isn't really.
Different show, but how woud you characterize Fred and Gunn? I think they fit into the category too.
I think Tara was "convinced" because Buffy's death was magical, and a great sacrifice. Joyce's death was a natural progression. As I recall, Tara was against it, but went along with it.
re: Gunn/Fred--I'm evil, but the impression I get is "One female character, not allowed to use HoYay on American network TV--boy, that girl's going to go through a lot of relationships."

I wank it as a combo of Tara's low self-confidence and a "Willow's my girlfriend who brought me back from Glory's mindwipe" mindset.
Lee, I guess my thing really centers more around Willow, now that I think about it. Huh.
Gunn/Fred was about as normal as the 'Verse gets, too.
