This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.

Overall, WB showed a 95.6% decrease in violence from 1998 to 2002. That drop can be attributed Slayer moved from the WB network to UPN in 2001. almost entirely to the fact that Buffy the Vampire
Meaning that the remaining violence was only 4.4% of what was airing in 1998? Apparently, the WB's promo strategy regarding Angel worked, because these yutzes are seemingly unaware of the show's existence.
Without even looking up the transmission date, that would be Spiral. And not a demon. Knight of Byzantium.
Spiral was near end of S5, that would be May. 11/05/02 would be <quick check> "Him". Don't remember it. After reading the summary -- "Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered, Pt. 2" via a magic letter jacket -- I know I watched it, but like much of S7 it didn't stick with me. OTOH, the ep before was Anya spotlight "Selfless", which I loved. "Spiral" <shudder> guys in chain mail on horseback chasing a tinfoil covered Winnebago through the desert. Ay yi yi!
Odd. Without looking back, I don't remember any demons at all in "Him." Except maybe the one Xander recalled from talking with the older brother.
OTOH, how would PTC have reacted to the idea of Buffy attempting to use a flame thrower on the principal, an authority figure? (And for that matter, wasn't Spike's flying tackle violent, too?)

Wasn't it a rocket launcher or something like that?
As a parent there are definitely shows out there that I don't want my kids watching at a young age. Buffy is one of them. But I do want my kids to watch it when I feel they're mature enough. And the show would never exist in the PTCverse.

Right. My bad.
And Wolfram, I think we're in the same neighborhood. I have no objection to parents setting limits for their kids. Where I object is being told that I have to live by other people's standards in my own home (though, of course, it's just common courtesy to take a guest's opinions into consideration).
You guys are insane. The Bible will never get an Emmy.
LOL!!! You people kill me! Quite probably the only group whose members have wackier senses of humour than me...I know a lot of fans think that the Bible jumped when they killed Abel off after only a few episodes, but in interviews w/ God and w/ Glenn Quinn who played Abel they both say that it was planned from the beginning.
Man, that Camden Toy seems to get all the best villains to play.
btw, what's the link for the PTC's reports on violence in shows? What's amusing is how I've seen pretty much all of those episodes they mentioned-X-Files, Millennium, Buffy of course.
Whoa, Limp Bizkit do a cover of "Behind Blue Eyes"...I liked ASH's interpretation better. (that might be old news, it's the first time I've watched music videos in a long time).

t unamerican And is May not the fifth month? t /unamerican
yeah my bad. I read the date as early May. It seemd so right, I didn't notice the year was wrong for S5.
My favorite UC ship would have to be Moses and Cain.
Wonder when they will finally give Moses that fucking spinoff that we have been promised.
