the art department decided to take an element from all major weapons and put them together--so it has parts of a scythe, a knife, an axe, a mace, etc.
When did the art dept. design it? The Fray axe has been around for what? A year now?

This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.

A .little info about the Scythe--Jane told me they had always called it a scythe and thought of it as such, but the art department decided to take an element from all major weapons and put them together--so it has parts of a scythe, a knife, an axe, a mace, etc.
Sounds like the art department may have seen a few too many Leatherman Multi-Tool ads. Still, I like the idea, and I think the whole "Scythe" thing is meant to tie into "The Harvest", the Grim Reaper, etc., etc.
Don't know when, Jon. I think the scythe part is the handle.
Also wondering what the Grr Argh monster will have to say.
I would love it to be "Bye-bye."
Though I guess it's not bye for ME...
I'm not even thinking about the Grr. Arrgh. guy. The previouslies alone are going to kill me.
I think the scythe part is the handle.
no, the handle is the snath. yes, snath.
yeah--I meant that the designers used a scythe handle, um, snath, in their design. BTW--I love that word. snath snath snath.
Snath? This is why I love my Buffistas.
Cindy, I see your point about re-watching--but I'm kind of saving the rewatching as my consolation for no new episodes after the finale. One fan was contemplating watching an episode a week, from the beginning all through, so she could do retrospective reviews, and I like that idea too.
Snath is a great word. I assumed that the Buffy art dept. just copied the design from the comic book. If the comic artist copied the design from the art dept. then that means that Joss had them design something for episodes that wouldn't be filmed for over a year. If that's true, I'm impressed!
