"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I just got semi majorly spoiled for the finale by someone. I said something about tomorrow being the finale and she said "yeah and *spoiler* happens!" She was being enthusastic and bondy about the show ending but ARGH!! I didn't want to know!

that happened to me last season. but the moron was just clueless, wanted to impress me by saying "did you know . . ." and I said "no, I didn't. But that' because I didn't WANT to know"

Since I haven't been able to read the 1000+ messages that have accumulated since last Tuesday night someone may have already said this, but here goes anyway:

Isn't the axe Buffy pulled from the stone a perfect tool for someone who wants to be a fireman when the floods roll back?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

There was some moron who was standing around telling people what was going to happen. "Oh it's so awesome you'll never guess that *ending spoiler!*"

That's not a moron. That's an asshole.

I think I'm going to watch during lunch....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I thought when they did the spell that caused Andrew to speak for captured!bringer, that this was pretty clear. He called himself a drone and I immediately thought hivemind (because - you know, bees) and pretty much everything he said was in the first person, plural. Am I the only one who was okay with that?

Nope, Cindy, that was my thinking too, more or less.

But I think I pictured it more that the FE was sort of downloading all the needed info to the bringers, but not that it was hearing or seeing whatever they saw. If that truly is the case, I would have expected to have seen an example of the FE hearing something through the bringers and acting on it before now. As far as the bomb goes, I thought that had already been set up (see Caleb's gloating after his encounter with Buffy at the school) and the bringers having been given the info in order to point the scoobs in the right (wrong) direction.

Rewatching to get ready for tomorrow, I'm less put off by the Angel/Buffy interaction. But it's still a major departure from Angel as we last saw him and in light of what we know about his recent past. Possibly it's the Indiana Jones entrance and the glamour shot as Buffy sees him, but there better be some kind of explanation coming down the pipe.

Isn't the axe Buffy pulled from the stone a perfect tool for someone who wants to be a fireman when the floods roll back?

Yeah, it really seems like there's a connection. Though I've not heard of many fire departments using scythes, as they keep trying to insist it is.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that UPN isn't doing a lot of advertising for the final ep? It would seem like the superbowl of cult shows.

Maybe they dont really need to do so, since there's so much press. Just seems like the WB went nets on advertising the finale in season five.

You know, I never watch UPN for anything other than Buffy, so I have no idea how much they've advertised. The show has gotten a lot of publicity though, lately. I suppose they're thinking, "Why bother?" I thought the WB advertised the S5 finale to be nasty. Remember all the "The WB's series finale" promos? At the time it seemed like they just wanted to confuse newer viewers, who weren't up on things, so they'd think that with Buffy's death, and the "series finale" the show was over for good.

Also wondering what the Grr Argh monster will have to say.

In a way, I hope he just says, "Grr Arrgh," and nothing more. I did love his, "I need a hug," at the end of Becoming, though.

I don't know why they keep trying to claim that it's a scythe. a scythe is " An implement consisting of a long, curved single-edged blade with a long bent handle, used for mowing or reaping." Excalibraxe does not have a curved handle.

Though it just occurred to me that maybe they are referring to it as a scythe to try to associate the Slayer with Death.

A .little info about the Scythe--Jane told me they had always called it a scythe and thought of it as such, but the art department decided to take an element from all major weapons and put them together--so it has parts of a scythe, a knife, an axe, a mace, etc.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Jon-- if you watch it at lunch, what if you cry and can't make it through the rest of the day!?!

Wait, I think I am projecting the reason I won't be watching at lunch!

There was some moron who was standing around telling people what was going to happen. "Oh it's so awesome you'll never guess that *ending spoiler!*"

My dad's been so funny recently, calling me whenever he sees an article in the paper on the end of Buffy, or when he (mistakenly) thought the finale was last week he called several times to make sure that I knew. I explained that there was one more left and he was asking "does she die then?" and then we got into this whole discussion of spoilers and how much work it is to avoid them. I've had to "la,la,la I can't hear you" my sister a couple of times since she's several eps behind and will ask questions without knowing what might be a spoiler or not, but so far so good.

I was looking for the bittorrent, but still planning on watching the broadcast and it suddenly hit me that there won't be any promos, that there won't be a next week on Buffy ever again. My breath just caught in my throat. This is gonna be so strange.
