I'm not one of those "That bitch!" people. But that whole speech-giving groove put me off her character for a few weeks. But I watched that whole thing, 1-7 in about year...it probably changed my perspective.
Buffy 4: Grr. Arrgh.
This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.
And now Victor reminds me that in S6 I did feel much more connected to the character than before. Huh. Don't know what that says about me.
Me too.In my case it was cause I was "going through the motions."
I started liking Buffy when it seems many people stopped.

What's striking me most in close proximity is how well the character's arcs flow. Of course, Willow's actual car crash is next, but that aside, they all had things to do, their own stories, and it all progressed rather naturally. Curious to see how the next few episodes, the "rough" ones, hold up on rewatch.
I loved Buffy from day one. I suspect I was one of Plei's 3. But Plei, who was the other? There were three? And look, now there's more. Oh. Maybe Allyson, you know. Allyson loves Buffy. Allyson gets pissed off at Buffy, but she loves our girl.
Yup. I love me my Buffy. She's my best girl.
She's my best girl.
Mine, too. Always.

Yup. Also, a couple of the fic people, so there were more than three from the get-go.
I don't see our girl through rose-tinting, but I love her, and am always a little shocked at the degree of Buffy-hate in fandom. (Esp. by a certain not to be named section.)

I don't either. I understand her. I started to read (with great interest, but something happened and I lost my spot) Hec's discussion the other day, about identifying with characters. I do identify with Buffy, but um, not in a transferry way (I hope). I get why she is who and what she is. I don't see her with rose-tinting either, but she's all right in my book, perhaps because I have a lot of warts on my own character.

The Spoldemorts? I know whom you mean. Funny thing is, some of my more (shall we say because at least one lurks) passionate B/A shipping Bronzer friends has been sort of down on Buffy because of Spoldermort. I say funny, because it seems both groups of shippers are not happy with her.
