I got all choked up at that one. Tara spent so long working up to that, and describing all the rough stuff that people normally go through to get to that point, that when she asked if they could just skip all that and get to the kissing, I was bawling like a baby.

I can't think of the Class-Protector-Awardage as Buffy's happiest moment, because she was so *determined* in her I'm-unhappy-but-dammit-my-friends-won't-be way that her buddies would have a good prom. Her lover had just broken up with her and she was dateless. It must have been a very satisfying moment for her, but I think I'd go with Jeff on the beginning of S5, just before she met Drac. She was coming into her own. She had no secrets from her mother, her lover, her friends. She was interested in her origins. I think that was her moment. Also though? I think the very end of Chosen was another moment for her. I wish Joss had given her the last line, though. I feel as though he cheated the character.

I don't think Buffy was freaked out about the hunting. It wasn't after her encounter with Dracula that she realized that the hunting was a reflection of the darkness attached to her power, and that her need for the hunting (and hiding it) meant that there was something amiss re: Riley. [Edit: X-post!]

I agree that her happiest moment in the 7 years was receiving the Class Protector award, but that wasn't her happiest time. What with the breakup with Angel and the impending Apocalypse (#3), happiness as a state of being was pretty much right out at that point. [Edit: X-post #2!]

Using that logic (happiness as a state of being rather than a moment), I have difficulty pinning down a time when Giles was happy. Maybe during the "Some Assembly Required" time, where he was dating Jenny, Buffy was beginning to accept her Slayerness, and the whole Angel situation hadn't really come into play yet. Also, the "Dark Ages" material hadn't come out yet. [Edit - Season 3 Giles when Buffy returns probably trumps this.]

I am glad it could bring amusement to somebody - because you have *no* idea how excited I was during Grave - with the magicks - I was all "Finally!! It's true! Giles is some all-powerful wizard who has been to hell and back and lived a thousand years and is probably a greek god of some kind and that's what this season finale is really about. At last, redemption for tina's crazy Giles' theory!"

And then Willow said the thing about them being borrowed magicks. And - well - the look the folks watching with me gave me I will never forget. They were so sad for me and yet so relieved that they didn't have to hear about it anymore. Little did they know I would find preverse joy in telling it over and over again...

No, that was in BvD, but we the audience realize that it may be a problem for Buffy, but I suggest that at that time Buffy herself didn't view it as a problem.

I just heard that a coworkers sister and brother in law are getting a dog, a husky that they think is part worf (female dog, btw). The BIL is a big Buffy fan, but doesn't want to name the dog Buffy. He wants to name it....Glory.

I suggested Veruca, since it's part wolf.
