Is anyone getting the HLotS dvds?
Me! I'm so excited. I'm hopelessly hooked on The Wire, was very moved by the The Corner. Can't wait to see HLotS and this Bayliss guy. Mr Simon's got an amazing character on The Wire, Omar, who is an wide-openly gay and hard-core drug-dealin thug and stick-up kid. He roolz.
I remember Bayliss as saying something along the lines of "just because I've had sex with men doesn't mean I'm gay."
What's "The Wire" about? I keep hearing about it, though I hadn't until about a week and a half ago.
CJ was from L.A. Law, yes? Amanda Donahoe's character?
Yep. Mmm... CJ.
Man, I had a huge old girl crush on her. I even watched the Lifetime remake of Shame for Amanda Donahoe. Those were the days.

But was it a regular thing? Or was it just that one time?

I think he did date other guys (including another cop) in S7. I can't be sure, because H:LotS w/o Pembleton (and
with
Michael Michelle) did little to keep me as a regular viewer.
He caught flack from the department about having a website that listed his interests in (a)Buddhism (b) bisexuality and (c) law enforcement all on the same page.
Okay, thanks Matt. Glad to hear I can forgive him now for the bicurious line.
The Wire is a cops&criminals show that takes place in Baltimore. The big deal is the excellent continuity, mind-numbing (yet often fascinating) details of police work and criminal enterprises, and great characters. You really have to pay-attention to make this show work for you. I would think it's tough to get into without seeing the first season.
I love it for the dialog, characters, character interaction and cool 'verse. Same things I loved about Buffy. Plus there's some hot men, and one kick-ass female detective. The often overwhelming and low-key ways of expressing all the details sometimes gets to me, but then they will all click into place in certain eps, leave me going "Ohmygod!" and "oh shit!"
I remember it being a big thing at the time that his character was going out on a date with Peter Gallagher's. The "I'm straight, I was just really drunk that night" excuse doesn't work so well when you meet for dinner and a show first.
