Beer Bad got a rep that they were being told to send a message that alcohol was evil. I did not believe that and see the ep as a sendup of afterschool specials of the ilk.
I wouldn't doubt, however, that someone suggested they do a special message, and it gave them the idea for the ep.
/me shrugs
I have a pic of me with Stanley because you can't drink out of the other major sports trophies.
I have some pics on my drive of some non-famous people with Lord Stanley's Cup
I have a friend that got to hold it. But I think he was dressed in a Mario Bros. outfit at the time. Or he was a goldfish cracker -- his resume is very confusing.
A bunch of the local goths had their pictures taken with it.
Sadly, I was sick, and failed to attend.
BEER BAD was actually the first episode I ever saw. Which explains a lot.
OK, people, we're comin' down to the one-hour mark here on the Right Coast. Let's do the checklist.
VCR properly set-check! (hey amych, thanks for posting my only lasting contribution to the FAQ, my VCR Prayer!)
Tape at the right place-check!
Cellphone turned off-check!
Land line unplugged-check!
All extraneous programs on computer not running to slow it down-check!
Beer and chocolate chilling in fridge-check! (no, I'm not going to mix them together or anything, sheesh)
Candles-check!
Light levels set for optimum viewing-check!
Comfy sweatpants laid out-check!
Fresh batteries-che--whoops, that's from my old FIREFLY viewing checklist, ignore that. Really. Move along, nothing to see here.
Phoenix up and running-check!
OK, time to eat dinner. I've had a lump in my throat all day. At first I thought it was the fact that the oaks have bloomed in Van Cortlandt Park, but...
I have my last first run Buffy ever episode Dinner bought. Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk. It only seems right that when your best girl is leaving to take the edge off with chocolate and ice cream.
VCR Prayer seems to be working on the cable -- thanks to amych for posting it and Caroma for thinking of it in the first place. Now all I need is the husband to come home with pizza and a few minutes to worship at the altar of the Whirley-Pop popcorn maker, and we're good to go.
Sad now.
Buffy is the only show I've loved and that I've seen the first episode on the first night it aired and the last episode the first night it aired.
I don't want it to be over! I'm not ready yet! Can we just wait one more week?
