Thrive to spite them

I have my last first run Buffy ever episode Dinner bought. Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk. It only seems right that when your best girl is leaving to take the edge off with chocolate and ice cream.

The longer I stay awake tonight, the more time I have before tomorrow begins.

VCR Prayer seems to be working on the cable -- thanks to amych for posting it and Caroma for thinking of it in the first place. Now all I need is the husband to come home with pizza and a few minutes to worship at the altar of the Whirley-Pop popcorn maker, and we're good to go.

Sad now.

Thrive to spite them

Buffy is the only show I've loved and that I've seen the first episode on the first night it aired and the last episode the first night it aired.

I don't want it to be over! I'm not ready yet! Can we just wait one more week?

Tagline? What tagline?

I wouldn't doubt, however, that someone suggested they do a special message, and it gave them the idea for the ep.

I always thought Beer Bad just wasn't hip with the metaphor. I agree that it was a bit too moralistic.

I think I remember a story on Salon a few years ago about the government giving "financial assistane" (read='bribes') to TV shows for including Afterschool Special-esque messages. And I'm pretty sure Buffy was among the shows that they mentioned as being on the receiving end of the assistance.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

I watched the downloaded finale last night so I would have less TV stress tonight ... and a commercial-free copy!

Now I'm feeling the need to watch it again, real-time. To hell with Ruben and Clay, I need another moment of Buffy and the gang.

Don't wanna let go!

eta: please don't hurt me for my unholy addiction to American Idol

If I only had a brain...

Thanks so much, guys. You've been part of what made it fun.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

See y'all after the show.

And, uhh, I may have a wee crush on TomW.

Keep breathing!

Still in the office, DH is taping for me (thanks, dear!) - just de-lurking to add my appreciation for the Buffista community. You're a great bunch of people to hang around. The breadth and depth of the *community* here is amazing.

To those who drift away with the end of Buffy - best wishes. To those who will stay around the Phoenix Board - I look forward to seeing you on the other side.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have rehearsal tonight (sigh), but I'll watch it as soon as I get back. Bye, last-pre-Buffy-show-thread.
