We're proud to say that the Class of '99 has the lowest mortality rate of any graduating class in Sunnydale history.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

You know what? I have an opinion and I express it. Consistently, even, since it hasn't really changed.

And that's good. No, I'm serious. You should express your opinions.

It's based on impression and back chanel and anecdotes I am not at liberty to share.

This, on the other hand, even with the best intentions, can come across as passive-aggressive and/or The Lurkers Support Me In Email.

It also comes across (to me, and possibly only to me) that all of this boils down to people finally realizing that not everyone here unconditionally likes each other, and deciding to make vague statements about it. Over on the local gothy board I'm on, it's refered to as the Cool Kids debate.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's based on impression and back chanel and anecdotes I am not at liberty to share.

What Jilli and Hec said. If you're not at liberty to share something because it didn't happen on the board, then you're not at liberty to use it as ammunition either.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Though I've been around a fairly long time I'm certainly not in any influential circle. I find this place more ascerbic by the day (see quotes above) and less appealing because of it.

Ah.

Well, then. This to me reads less and less like something that can or should be handled in Bureaucracy.

I'm out of here.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I believe it was Kristin who said in Minearverse that it is a difficult concept to accept that not everyone loves her. Plenty of people chimed in that they felt the same way about themselves.

Yes it was me that said this -- though I want to be clear and say that what I had voiced was that that has been a difficult journey for me. I'm at a point now where I am secure enough in myself that I really only fret about "people liking me" once I've really invested in them.

Which leads me to...

It also comes across (to me, and possibly only to me) that all of this boils down to people finally realizing that not everyone here unconditionally likes each other, and deciding to make vague statements about it.

I think that the reason that this is sometimes an issue is because people do get very invested in each other as they get invested in the board, and sometimes it is easy to confuse the emotion of "I think Poster A doesn't like me" with the emotion of "I think this board doesn't want me here."

ETA: And that's sad and hard, because I would hate to see someone leave due to a personal dispute when there was still plenty of love (and fun and intellectual stimulation) in other interactions. Just an observation, for what it's worth.

I'm off to Vermont...so much skippage for me this weekend when I get back. Keep up the good B'cry.

Yes, I am being snotty at you, because you are irritating me, and I have very little reason not to be.

The reason not to be is we're not like this. Let's not let emotions make things worse.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Worth repeating. Kristin is wise well beyond her (Buffista) years.

There was some curdling -- but I understood that some of it was on Minearverse?

As far as I can recall, it was one incident. Which was spurred by a political discussion.

In retrospect, I wonder if we should have just had a politics thread and declared the rest of the board off limits to political discussion.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Kristin is wise well beyond her (Buffista) years.

You know, with all the renaming that's been done recently, I could easily believe Kristin is a renamed familiar Buffista.

I'm made of felt and my....hey, who's hand is that?

Yes, I am being snotty at you, because you are irritating me, and I have very little reason not to be.

This is just making a conscious choice to be mean to another poster. I am really trying to learn here, but replies like this make it quite difficult. I'll take a break.
