You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I've posted the announcement in Press and in Lightbulb. Could someone else check the Press announcement to make sure I got the dates right?

Lightbuld discussion starts here:

Since I wasn't really clear before, I meant that just because I didn't bring up the vote on "old issues" doesn't mean it isn't important to me that it be voted on. I'd really like to see this become the next issue in lightbulbs regardless of whether we have a list of "old issues" or not.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

As I understand, someone (Anne W, I think) is still putting together that list, but it's been held up a bit by board and RL events. When it's complete, or nearly so, I think we'll get a discussion and vote.

Discussion: NOW - 5/9/03 11:59 pm EST Voting: 5/10/03 12 am EST - 5/13/03 12:00 am EST

DXM, the discussion ends on the 9th, so there are full 4 days of discussion and some more - a part of today, so 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, with only the last 4 days being full, because today has already started, right? If that's what you intended (and that's how it was in most of the former votes-discussions), then your numbers are good (like there was any doubt of that).

Thanks, Nilly. I was using the last proposal as a template, and just wanted to make sure.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Since the proposer is responsible for posting the call to vote, I think He/She should also think about making the timeing of that posting at a good time for them (ex NOT at midnight EST when you are an east coast morning person and in bed by ten or something). I mean, I think we should feel free to change it.

I agree Sophia, but I'm usually up around midnight, anyway, especially on a Friday night, so I just went with it.

Oh good! I just don't want us to get locked in so I thought I would bring it up.

Does anyone else have any comments on my short "how to vote?" Do we think it should go up somewhere handy or wait for the full version/history that Nutty is working on?

Nutty - May 05, 2003 2:12:35 pm PDT #1357 of 10005
"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Sophia, I'll incorporate it into the larger. Like, "Here is what we do. Here is a checklist of what to do, in order." Like on (good) graduate applications: they do it in prose, and then they do it in a bulleted list, just to make sure everyone can find the details easily.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Obviously coming in late to the party, but this comment seems more appropriate for here than for the formal discussion.

Am I the only one who is surprise to see so many of the Official Seconds coming from people who claim to be against the proposal? I hope that they won't be disappointed when/if it gets voted in, given that so far we have voted in every single proposal that has been raised. I am assuming that this one will be voted in as well. If it were me, if I were against a proposal I would not be so generous as to Second it. I guess that makes me officially a less generous person.
