Simply put. For my part I wasn't suggesting a repurposing of a thread for a gaming thread--that's a test game thread. I was suggesting explicitly starting gaming conversations when you're "around" other gamers, and see if that can work under various volume/posting style boundaries. If it cannot be, then the vote to me is a different one.

I don't think P-C was advocating dropping the idea of a gaming thread and just talking in Bitches all the time. But I also think it would not be a bad idea, now that the ball is rolling, to attempt to start gaming conversation where and when it suits your fancy and see what happens. As an experiment.
