'Out Of Gas'

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Aimee has proposed the following:

I propose that we close the dedicated Firefly thread and continue our discussions in the Minearverse thread.

As someone who couldn't stand Firefly, but does follow Tim's career, I'm naturally against the proposal, so I want to ask:

Do Serenity and the much-hoped-for-and-constantly-debated sequel really relate to Tim?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

If we're closing the FF thread, I'd prefer the discussion be moved to Minearverse over Box Set. There is already some contentiousness going on regarding the content of the Box Set and spoiler issues and adding Firefly to the mix won't help. Minearverse is 1) fitting thematically as FF is a Tim show as much as a Joss show, and 2) it's much less problematic, spoiler-wise, since alas, there aren't any new Tim shows on air right now, as opposed to Box Set, which has something like 5-6 active shows being discussed at a given moment.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think Minearverse and Other Media are perfectly appropriate places for Firefly, and possibly better, since I don't know that the FF thread has all that many followers anymore, even among those who remember it fondly. Even leaving that aside, I think the time for a dedicated thread has passed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm against the idea that conversation has to be officially moved anywhere.

Despite what I said above, I'm kind of in agreement. I think it'd fit the best in Minearverse, but if the conversation crops up in Other Media or Natter (or even in Box Set), that'd be fine. Much as I love the show, I doubt there will be enough traffic for a new dedicated thread.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I can ammend. I am ammendable.

I propose we close the dedicated Firefly thread and let conversation happen where it will.

Punishingly Intricate

I propose we close the dedicated Firefly thread and let conversation happen where it will.

I like this.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You don't think people will then say "So where am I supposed to talk about Firefly?"

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I propose we close the dedicated Firefly thread and let conversation happen where it will.

I'm not a fan of thread-nannying, but I'm also not a fan of Firefly, and I shudder at the prospect of Firefly talk cropping up in Natter.

Though, in practice, I imagine it won't happen often, or at all, and I can just skip past like Hec with cat posts.
