Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I would prefer to split it into a broadcast thread and a cable/other thread. But that's just my pipedream.

Our wings are not tired

I too would prefer that Boxed Set got split.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think we need to lay off of Boxed Set for a while. Let's get some other things hammered out and see how they work.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I agree--this isn't a Boxed Set proposal, after all.

brillig

As I understand the current proposal, there are two proposed threads, right? A comedy thread and a procedurals thread?

Art Crawl!!!

That is what I understand.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I find the question of where to put Monk if this proposal goes through interesting. In essence, what it boils down to is which categorization is more defining of a program, the channel it airs on, or it's genre (note that genre is often defined rather broadly). It seems to me that depends on the show. Rather than shunting Monk discussion into one place, why not see where the conversation pops up?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That also depends on the day -- Mad Men pretty clearly "belongs" in Cable Drama, but on at least one day, there was some pretty involved discussion of it in Natter.

I guess my question is really, what will people be discussing in a Procedurals thread. I mean, I watch a TON of Law & Order, but almost never have anything to say about it beyond random guest stars who have since become someone.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'll definitely be in there to talk about Bones and House, if nothing else. A lot of what I'm interested in for the new season is more Boxed Set oriented. I'm sure some of the JM fans will show up in Procedurals to talk Without a Trace.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

This is kinda how I feel about all the tv talk. If people would just start talking about the shows they want to discuss(wherever they frequent), I think people will either join in and therefore a need for a thread will be shown, OR people will not join in and a lack of interest will be obvious.

It has always seemed simple to me for what is such a talked and re-talked topic.
