Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

Our wings are not tired

Basically we've got folks that can't deal with bucket threads that don't have white font, and folks that can't deal with bucket threads that have white font.

No matter what we do there's going to be a disenfranchised group of people.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I do think the people who prefer/like whitefont might be in the minority (or content with TV discussion in Natter), but I'm wondering if it might ultimately be a good idea to have a bucket whitefont thread.

Who gets the star-bellies?

I want to start with a star belly, but then I'm thinking I might invent a machine to print them onto others. Then I won't need one. I'll have my star white fonted.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay. Catching up on the overnights, I think the questions as I posted them last night will stand, unless someone sees something critical in the next few.

I think I mentioned when I proposed that I wasn't actually sure which way I'd vote. On any of the questions. I'm still not. I wonder if that's a first around here.

What is even happening?

brenda, I think that looks like a good ballot.

Nobody is disenfranchised; everyone gets to vote. It's just that some preferences win and some don't. Unless we suddenly become of one mind, which frankly would scare the crap out of me, that's the way it will always be, but we're not disenfranchised. We're highly franchised.

oh! And while I'm grumbling about it, I'd really rather have a single rule like "TV threads are NAFDA". Having different whitefont rules for each thread makes it harder to manage discussions overall.

I lean this way too, amy. It seems to me that if we have a TV thread, it ought to be NAFDA. White-font is one of the reasons Natter doesn't work for me as a TV discussion area.

There was some feedback on the experiment, that indicated some of us found the idea of different rules for different threads made the whole experiment too much of a bother.

What's a star belly? Is it a kind of beagle?

brenda, on the experimentals, I didn't know how I'd vote on anything until I voted. I dithered between just about every option. I finally decided to vote for my personal perfect world, rather than what I thought would be the Buffista ideal.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Hey Brenda. The ballot looks great. The only change I'd like to make is in the wording of the third question. Here's what I'd like to use, which is similar to the past two ballots:

If a separate thread wins, do you want this thread to have whitefonted discussion? Please choose one:

YES (with clear labels as to show being discussed, but no future spoilers)

NO (no future spoilers, no white font, i.e. NAFDA)

NO PREFERENCE

S'alright?
