I'm still unsure of what's wrong with whitefont. Are people opposed to it because it's a PITA to compose your posts?
I think there's a number of factors, including the fact that reading or posting from most phone browsers means that whitefont doesn't work. Most phone browsers don't really handle the quick tags.
I'd rather no white font for this thread than full on 24 hour.
As would I. But I'd prefer either option to the "whitefont eliminated contestant/winner" scenario.
Oh yeah. I forgot about the phone browsers.
Here's the thing: what about having a no white font rule until we sort out what happens with other "bucket threads." I'm in agreement that different white font rules can be confusing.
I don't mind a 24 hour whitefont rule, it's how we have to discuss stuff in Natter in the first place. Although I guess it would be werid doing whitefont for non competetion shows like How it Works or Dirty Jobs.

It's a PITA for me to read. And to tell the truth, I find myself erring on the side of caution and WFing more than I would otherwise because I don't remember the rules from thread to thread. But it's not something that bothers me enough to fight about.
I'm in agreement with le nubian. Let's put it on hold until we see how it shakes out with the (hypothetical) other new threads. It would be massively confusing if they all had different whitefont rules.
Yeouch. I think trying to come up with a blanket WF rule for multiple threads, which aren't even known at this point, is opening a huge can of worms.

I mentioned this earlier, in the other thread, but yes, this. Especially for newer folks.
I can embrace whitefont for new movies and that sort of thing, but it just feels like a chore to read it and participate with it for pages and pages. I'm one of those who'd rather avoid a thread than have to highlight or stop and figure out what portions of my post should be whitefont.
I guess, really, perhaps I'm just lazy. Whitefont, even though it's polite, feels like work.
I would very much like to see this be voted on independently of any other possible new threads, if possible. I think there is much more agreement/lack of disagreement about this one than there is for the others, and there's going to have to be a lot more hashing out when the others come up for a vote.
