If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'd rather no white font for this thread than full on 24 hour. I've spoiled or nearly spoiled myself before, but I can work on being more careful

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I think the 24 hour whitefont might have been part of why the cable drama thread was not as successful. People kept posting, "I'll discuss when the whitefont window expires" but then it seemed to just taper off.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm still unsure of what's wrong with whitefont. Are people opposed to it because it's a PITA to compose your posts?

Personally, I think it's more confusing and discussion inhibiting than having 24 hour whitefont for everything. I'd be second guessing everything I posted in regular font.

That's the thing. If you're a regular in the thread and you know that I want contestant x to win and my comment is "Oh shit! I can't believe that just happened. I'm never watching this show again." is it really any different from me saying that contestant x was eliminated?

I think this would be particularly difficult for reality shows, where so much of what's being commented on is directly related to who's out and who's still in. I would probably just read night of show and save my posts for the morning when I wouldn't have to worry about what I was saying. Which, as I said earlier, would be a drag for watch and posts.

That's my concern too, Liese. Of the four, Cable Drama was the only one with whitefont rules, and it barely broke 100 posts, compared to the 700 or so in the other threads.

And people seemed very excited to have a place to discuss The Riches at first, so I'm not convinced it was a lack of enthusiasm for the thread subject.

I think there's a number of factors, including the fact that reading or posting from most phone browsers means that whitefont doesn't work. Most phone browsers don't really handle the quick tags.

I'd rather no white font for this thread than full on 24 hour.

As would I. But I'd prefer either option to the "whitefont eliminated contestant/winner" scenario.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the phone browsers.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Here's the thing: what about having a no white font rule until we sort out what happens with other "bucket threads." I'm in agreement that different white font rules can be confusing.

Thrive to spite them

I don't mind a 24 hour whitefont rule, it's how we have to discuss stuff in Natter in the first place. Although I guess it would be werid doing whitefont for non competetion shows like How it Works or Dirty Jobs.
