I'm not saying it is. I'm just thinking there's a pretty easy way to avoid it for reality competition shows.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
Also, something else to consider:
Should we roll the discussion of the experimental thread into the new one? There's a sort of precident on both sides, but ultimately I suppose the answer to that would be "whatever gives the Stompies the least headaches."
I could live with night of whitefont for winner/elimininee - but I'm not sure in practice how that works. Can you say "I can't believe Giuseppe thought that hair style would go over with the judges" if Guiseppe was eliminated? Post ep discussion could get complicated.

Sure.

What do you mean? re-open and re-name the experimental thread and start from where it was left off?
Personally, I think it's more confusing and discussion inhibiting than having 24 hour whitefont for everything. I'd be second guessing everything I posted in regular font. Is this too leading? Am I giving something away? And since not everyone reads things the same way, I see the potential for tons of thread nannying.
I'd rather no white font for this thread than full on 24 hour. I've spoiled or nearly spoiled myself before, but I can work on being more careful
I think the 24 hour whitefont might have been part of why the cable drama thread was not as successful. People kept posting, "I'll discuss when the whitefont window expires" but then it seemed to just taper off.
I'm still unsure of what's wrong with whitefont. Are people opposed to it because it's a PITA to compose your posts?

That's the thing. If you're a regular in the thread and you know that I want contestant x to win and my comment is "Oh shit! I can't believe that just happened. I'm never watching this show again." is it really any different from me saying that contestant x was eliminated?
I think this would be particularly difficult for reality shows, where so much of what's being commented on is directly related to who's out and who's still in. I would probably just read night of show and save my posts for the morning when I wouldn't have to worry about what I was saying. Which, as I said earlier, would be a drag for watch and posts.
