For the record, I'm not at all annoyed at the Deadwood talk, and the high praise makes me want to see it. I just remember thinking this morning about how the TV talk that isn't in Boxed Set kinda bleeds out everywhere, and then someone else mentioned it, and then I wondered about a TV thread.
Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
I'm not at all bothered by Deadwood talk in the Movies thread, but I like the idea of somewhere more dedicated for that kind of focused, specific TV talk, too. I don't get the premium channels, but I do plan to Netflix a whole bunch of those shows eventually (my mother is trying to get me to watch Weeds; this may be in return for me talking up Doctor Who incessantly) and it would be nice to have somewhere fairly low-volume to go to talk about them; Natter doesn't suit my purposes very well for that. (This may just be a me thing, since I don't go into Natter very much anymore.) But, yeah, I'd support it. I am Proudly Pro-Proliferation.
Which, I reckon, is the complaint.
That Boxed Set has recent TV? I don't see it.
I think the broader it is, the closer this will hew to the previous general TV threads, and suffer the same arguments.

This is me. I would like a thread that covers HBO & Showtime series but, if we end up with an all cable, all the time plan, I think the thread would get unwieldy.
Boxed Set does tend to suggest DVDs of previous seasons. Maybe call it "Premium TV"?
That's all I'll say since in Canada we don't get any of those channels you are talking about and the channels that do air these shows usually show them later than in the US.
But Boxed set isn't "Premium TV" - it's genre tv. Some of it is digital cable for some of us but none of it is Showtime/Hbo but it could be - I suppose.
I mean it was the Smallville, Due South stuff that got us Boxed Set in the first place.
If Stargate were still shown on Showtime, which thread would it be in?
Exactly.
Boxed Set. It's genre TV.
I don't care where the HBO show discussion is as long as I can find it and it doesn't get on anyone else's nerves.
