Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

You're welcome.

I think it will be harder to see a community effect.

Probably. I don't see a better solution, though.

Our wings are not tired

As far as I know if the proposal is pulled then there is no action to be taken. If we want an action then it will have to come up in B'cacy. It does not need to be a proposal, as we've altered things on the board without them before, or it could be a new proposal. If this one is pulled, then that is where this proposal stops.

At least that's my understanding, I could be very very wrong.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I appreciate that we discussed the issue.
I agree with this.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Check out #31.... It's anti-sock puppets too. 213 Things Skippy Shouldn't Do

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Proposal for a Veronica mars thread by Jim:

I can't recall the process, but yeah, I propose that we have a VM thread. Purely selfishly, I can't keep up with Natter these days, and I want to discuss VM in the kind of depth you only get round here.

Jim's earlier proposal, as it were:

To go right back, I would support any suggestion of a Veronica Mars thread. Not just cos it's ace, but because we should be discussing it: it's the first really convincingly post-Buffy (as opposed to sub-Buffy) show, it's nakedly Buffy-inspired, next year it will have 2 main cast Buffy alumni. It'll never be exactly because the only really real Buffy is really real Buffy and she's gone, but if we're going to be called Buffistas we should, surely, have a place to talk about VM.

I take issue with the "nakedly Buffy-inspired" bit (and that of course is an issue to be discussed ad nauseum in the hypothetical thread, not here (oh hell, here it is: Rob never watched Buffy, and he's only now watching Season 2, following Joss's comments on VM (...and my telling him to, heh))), but otherwise yay. It would be nice to discuss VM with the Buffistas in all their Googlicious wisdom. If you're looking for futher connections, the show's used a few Whedonverse directors, like Nick Marck.

Swouncing

Seeing as I can't use that thread even if it ends up existing, the only contribution to the community I can offer in the matter is to count the votes. So if you want me to, I will.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I love the show and even voted for it when we had the "informal poll" last year. I'm glad that more people have picked up on it over the summer and I definitely think it's worth discussing in it's own thread.

Rules call for four days of discussion and three days of voting, give or take a few hours. So voting should start first thing Monday morning. It would be most convenient for me if I can set up a ballot before I head for work on Monday, so how about voting starts 5:00AM Board Time (PDT), Monday Aug. 22? Any objections? Jim?

We also need a volunteer to count votes.

t edit x-post with Nilly.
