Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

What is even happening?

Well, for the record, I want deep spoilers about O.C., and don't about Lost. Lite, as defined, does nothing for me
Gus, what do you think of this: Topic!Cindy "Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!" Oct 27, 2004 4:07:10 pm PDT

Cindy, that suggestion could work, but would anyone bother to post twice?

Most probably wouldn't, Lyra. Some people like full on spoilers, and will post in the no white-font thread. Some people will rather pick and choose by show and by spoiler type, and will stick to the [for now unclassified] thread. Wasteful? Maybe, but no more wasteful than what's on the table. We're still talking about the underepurposing of Spoilers 3, back to an unfettered zone, and adding (back) another thread for "lite"(or otherwise more restrained), even if we don't do that.

Our traditionally defined Lite doesn't allow for a lot of spoiler discussion people (other than Gus and ita, I swear they weren't the only ones who liked the Spoilers 3 thread the way it currently is, but I can't remember whom).

Half the time, the old Buffy/Angel spoiler thread, was filled with show discussion, so that we didn't have to worry about accidentally spoiling the unspoiled.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What if we had a Lost spoiler thread that was hard-core and left the current one with white font for other shows?

I'd still be irked. I'm pretty much a no-fucking-whitefont hardliner. Also, I don't WATCH Lost.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

but I will add that the previous spoiler lite policy was, imho, bad for discussion.

This is very inaccurate.

I'm sorry Wolfram. You must have meant to say "I disagree," not "This is very inaccurate." I simply expressed my own opinion, and I think I have a clearer sense of what that is than you do.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Selfishly I'd vote for that, but just because there'd be a hardcore whitefont spoiler thread left over, and not because I thought it would serve the community better.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

(Plei is me. The Blob, I'm not gonna claim.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm in the Plei/Amych/Blob corner of Please If We're Going To Have A Spoiler Thread Make It A Spoiler Thread And That Means No Whitefont.

Whitefont and hardcore spoiling are not mix-y things.

You can't relax with whitefont.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

So, if we were going to make everyone happy (except the anti-proliferationistas), we'd have one spoiler thread just like it is, one without any white font, and one thread with casting, etc. that is or is not white-fonted?

You know I'm never bringing a proposal to B'cracy ever again, right? :-)

It's a common reaction.
