I think "I think it would be cool" is a fine starting point for discussion. It isn't a reason to change the board, but if a majority of the board ALSO think it's cool and feel it would make for a better board, then we got something. If not, then it's just an opinion, basically.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
Then there's no disagreement here. Sorry, ita--I was generalizing out from what you wanted for yourself to what I thought you thought should be a Rule Of Proposal-Making. My misunderstanding.
On what other hand, DCJ? A proposal to put Lost in Boxed Set isn't on the table.
Actually, prior discussion has indeed included the idea that boxed set could be a home. I haven't checked to see if it was discussed here, but it has been discussed here or in Bureaucracy. In fact, that was "the other hand" I was referring to.
I have expressed that Boxed Set was a reasonable place to put Lost in the past, and was reiterating it, because I still believe it to be a viable alternative. Are not alternatives to the proposal things to be talked about?
Sorry, I thought this was an open discussion of a future for programs such as Lost and whether we should make threads for them or not.
If adding Lost to Boxed Set addresses LJ's worries about board stagnation and people having difficulty (including sifting through Boxed Set) finding their show discussion, then I see your point.
But I don't see the through line, and I don't see what your interpretation of the tag has to offer in support of that position.
I just wanted to make it known that I'm not ignoring this conversation, but I don't feel like I have anything new to say, and doubt I will until we've done the polls.
Okay, the poll is now ready. (Thank you, Jon.) Would anyone else be willing to count it? I would, but it wouldn't look impartial, and I don't want that hanging over the vote.
Since this is just a non-binding poll in order for Lyra Jane to decide what she'd like to officially propose, I see nothing wrong with her counting the votes, but I defer to her sense of propriety.
If you are not comfortable, I would be happy to count, Lyra Jane.
eta: though I agree with Jon--it is fine if you do.
If you don't mind, Lee, I'd rather you did it. Thanks.
I will, Lyra Jane. Just let me know the details.
