Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

That's 1) or 2), erinaceous? I doubt any of my posts'd be long enough to qualify, but I am 2) and not 1).

Yep, 1 OR 2. And the corpus is supposed to cover American and North American English, both. I'm not sure if they're tagging Canadian material, or just hoping it will sort itself out ... poor Canadians, they're always caught between the Brits and the Yanks ...

Anyway, this will all be marked "online", so it's not as cut-and-dried as it would be if I were soliciting published novels ...

So, do UnAms vote?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I'd say yes. The board is "owned" by ALL its users. Everyone should have a say, even if not everyone's posts will be used.

Yes, please, the unAms should vote! Nobody should be disenfranchised just because they put extra 'u's in things.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Nobody should be disenfranchised just because they put extra 'u's in things.

Well, not this time.... t sighhhhhhhhhhhh

Just make sure you don't use a butterfly ballot.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Isn't the Fan Fiction thread for *discussion* of fanfiction, rather than posting of it? You should be able to use that thread, if not either of the workshop threads then, no?

Other than that, I love this idea.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Isn't the Fan Fiction thread for *discussion* of fanfiction, rather than posting of it?

Quotes would have to be stripped, since fic is quoted there (in smaller amounts than the workshop threads, natch).

Quotes are being stripped, right? I'm not sure if most of the snippets in thread are using the caret for demarcation.

I'm still trying to figure out how quotes would be stripped. It may not be possible.

I'll have to take a look at the Fanfic thread (I don't go in there much). It would be nice to get cites for OTP, Mary Sue, & slash ...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It would be nice to get cites for OTP, Mary Sue, & slash ...

Of course, those are terms that originated in fandom, rather than in Buffista land, and they're used in certain contexts here which don't necessarily represent the full usage in the wide world of fandom...

This is complicated.
