Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

eta: though now I'm trying to imagine true anonymity, which would require MARTIAL ART NAME all over the place, and it's making me laugh.

I dunno. Could just as easily be msbelle., although I would love to see Betsy's example annotated thusly:

and PINK FLUFFY BUNNY had TRADEMARKED ELF NAME bent backwards over the TRADEMARKED LOUNGE CHAIR NAME when...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Could just as easily be msbelle

You've noticed no qualitative difference in our posts on krav? Dude, you're supposed to be mutual favourites.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Unless the deleter only deletes it when it's being used as a name.

This is actually what should happen. They have a program, and then graduate students clean up the tagging. So there will be nillying and mearaing and meijaing aplenty, as long as people who use those formations approve their posts being used, of course.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Just a thought that occured to me -- this board is public, so theoretically anyone could download our threads for anything, without us even knowing. So it seems to me like a bonus (of course, I'm sure it's also in line with professional ethics) that they're even asking.

Yes. This.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I plan to opt in, and I'm a little disappointed that Bitches won't be included, since that's my primary posting thread and, with the anonymity, I don't have a problem with even particularly personal things being read by someone I don't know. What are they going to think? Poster X is a big whiner? Possibly, but I don't know the person thinking it.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm opting in, but even with anonymity, I'd prefer that Bitches not be included.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Deena is me.

As far as the lightbulbs discussion goes, with the opt-in included as part of the eventual deal, I'm having trouble formulating arguments against doing this. Looks great to me.

ETA: Like Deena, I kind of wish Bitches was included. But given that not everyone is comfortable with that, I'm just as glad it's off the table.

Thrive to spite them

I'm opting in.

meara - Jan 26, 2004 5:01:01 pm PST #3411 of 10289

The PERSONAL NAME change will unforunately eliminate the possibility of "Nilly" entering the language as a verb. Ditto with "meara" and "mejia" and "anya."

Bwhahah! I hadn't even thought of THAT! Woohoo! :) (edit: er, woohoo on the idea of it entering the language, not on the elimination of said possibility)

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I'm in favor, Erin, and willing to opt in.
