Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

And now I'm starting to feel like one of the Atlantic Canadians stumbling across a proposal that we don't need that thread.

There's the rub. I have flat out stated that if we have to, I'm okay with seeing Farscape dumped, and I stand by that.

But when push comes to shove, I really do want to keep my space to discuss Farscape, and think maybe we should just leave the three threads alone. They're obviously not contributing heavily to the problem, considering the volume of traffic there.

I mean ultimately, if we really want to do something about the problem, we need to cut Natter.

Flat out, yo.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Okay, I'm going to be a dick.

Everyone has damn fine reasons for keeping threads. Where you gonna keep 'em when the board goes KA-FUCKING-BOOM next month?

Cutting down on threads, consolidating them, is going to make some people unhappy.

I love the Minear thread. I really do. But you know what? Get rid of it. If it'll help, delete it.

I sincerely believe that we have to tighten our belts now, so we can enjoy the board for a long time.

Huh. Would that cause problems for people who hadn't gotten all the way through the thread yet, with finding where they left off?

Don't know, don't care. We're all bright people, we can figure it out.

Actually, I let my thought get derailed there. Will it cause any probs when people are still subscribed and message center is looking for a thread that's not there anymore?

Ah! I don't know. But how long would you keep a closed thread on the board for the people then? Two weeks? A month?

Keep up or DIE! i say.

If you try to look for a closed thread in your message center, a virus slags your hard drive and blows out all the chips on your motherboard.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Will it cause any probs when people are still subscribed and message center is looking for a thread that's not there anymore?

I'm just guessing, but I think that when a thread is deleted from the database, it's also deleted from the subscriptions table. So no, because the deleted thread should just disappear from anyone's subscriptions list.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Allyson, are you talking about closed threads or already-archived threads?

Closed threads. Get rid o' dem. It's 15 threads taking "click through" space on the board. They're not active. Archive them.
