I see what you're saying. I'm just thinking it will be virually everyone in there discussing for a short period of time, and it's seeming like the easiest solution, given the short time-frame we're talking about. (God willing. I've been watching extra WB, and no Angel yet.)

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
I'm also thinking, that when the show starts, it's gonna be a weird 3 discussion thing going on. Either the people who went to lite will stay there to continue discussions they'd been having, or the regular Angel thread will choke because the discussions have been going on outside of it.
I'm remembering (possibly incorrectly) a discussion in Spoilers that was really good, and I suggested moving it to Buffy (wasn't spoilery), and whoever I was discussing with said no because ...eh now I forget, but I was thinking of it today and thinking it was relevant.

It also doesn't solve what appears to be the central issue, because this, at it's heart, isn't about the BCS.

This too.
The core issue is about summertime casting changes announcements, right?
Yeah, OK, I don't know. And really should just stay out of it, because I don't even post in the show threads anymore!
Also, some people feel that casting news isn't a spoiler, and don't particularly want to go to some other thread to discuss it.
I don't particularly think it's a spoiler, either. Especially if we're just talking about actors, because who knows what's going to happen? Not me.
It's not that I wouldn't go to another thread to discuss it, it's just that Lite really is not a discussion thread. It's more a casting spoiler confirmation thread, from what I can tell.
I think the suggestion is to change the spoile lite thread to facilitate discussion. If, however, there isn't a buy-in, it won't work anyway.
If, however, there isn't a buy-in, it won't work anyway.
I wouldn't post in Spoilers Lite. I find the rules too slippery and are even more inhibiting than in the main thread.
I don't really want a compromise that's about repurposing threads or adding new ones. I want to take the pulse of the community, finding out where the center is, and then consolidating the discussion there. I think that's the healthiest thing for the board and leads to the best and most interesting conversations.
Yes.
The most frustrating aspect of this discussion, which I've been lurking in--sorry, I should have weighed in, but I suck at fast-paced discussion--is that Spoilers is already a sub-section of Buffistas. It's been that way for a long time. But many of the people who are in there now are new, and the concepts of what should be publicly acceptable re: spoilers is shifting. I didn't particularly like nor see the need for Lite, but I respected it--and I think having to care for three different needs, the unSpoiled, the slightly Spoiled, and the full-on Spoiled is simply ridiculous for a community that prides itself on discussion between a diverse and interesting group of people who are consistently interested in having good *discussion,* not breaking its back trying to meet the needs of every single member. To that end, when Buffy was aired, those in Spoilers did their best to be cautious and courteous when it came to spoilers. Such efforts, I believe, are not considered as necessary for Angel--especially if you look at the way the Spoiler community has grown (granted, not exponentially, but seriously more than usual) over the summer as Angel spoilers are beginning to roll in.
So that's my .02.
