As to the spoiler-free peeps having to stay out of a show thread for fear that one of us who wants to discuss the BCS will spoil them, I would just like to point out that as an East Coaster, I have to stay out of show threads starting three hours before the show starts if I wish to remain unspoiled.

Agree with Kristen, too. We knew by the end of last summer that Faith and Angelus would return, thanks to DS and others.

Kristen's proposal is as cut and dried as it can be.

And if the spoiler policy broadens to include the website it would be more than two months.

Angel news is okay in the Angel thread, but not in Wonderfalls, Bitches or the Fic threads. I want to know that from people like Plei, etc. I want to know it from ita. I want to know it from Trudy and Elena.

In the fic thread, it would pretty much mean a lot of people who consider the BCS not a spoiler wouldn't be posting their fic if the BCS is involved, but, as I don't write the BCS much anymore, it's not a big for me. However, I dislike, as mentioned, making some NAFDA less FD than others, and always have, even when we did it in FF and the show threads.

The one other thing I'd like clarified if possible is whether there's any restriction on when the casting change occurs. For instance, the spoilers I'm currently aware of are all things that will be readily apparent (in the credits if nowhere else) as of the first episode. If a casting change is announced that says that one of the regulars is leaving mid-season, I consider that a whole other level of spoiliness, and it's the kind of thing that really would affect my enjoyment of the show.

That said, I am strongly in favor of Kristen's idea for where the info should come from. I think confusion and arguments could easily result from some of the other suggestions.

Since Jim isn't around, can we possibly use Elena's post as a basis for some suggestions or recommendations for him when he returns? I don't want him to have to wade through all the talk, but I also don't want to lose sight of some of the things we've come to some accord on.

This has been something almost everyone agreed on early on, before things got heated.

MB, SG, and GQ leaving, or AndyH added, not okay.

This would, based on most people's statements of support ONLY apply to between-seasons changes where the information comes from where Kristen said it should.

Jim, when come back, bring Advil. Also, since there have been about 1000 posts since your departure, I’d like to sum up and suggest that you consider rewording your proposal as follows:

"That major casting spoilers (to the main cast only, not recurring or guest), which are being advertised by Fox or the WB at their annual upfront presentation to advertisers, are no longer considered spoilers and may be discussed, within their respective show threads. This only includes cast additions or departures that occur over summer hiatus. Any plot points related to the character's (not the actor's) arrival or departure are to be treated as spoilers. The Main Cast are those characters who appear in the opening credits."

You're right, Plei. I just wanted to make sure, if we are going to give Jim some sort of synopsis to work from, that it was in there.
