Trudy makes a good point... I would personally prefer to be unspoiled and not get spoiled by discussion in the NAFDA threads.
Fair enough. Although, after reading all of this stuff, I'm well convinced that no one's going to come out happy from this particular debate.
Except me. I don't care.
t thinks about it
This doesn't mean I have to hit Tara now, does it?
EDITED to prove I can spell, which is something I have to do way more than I should, seeing as making sure things are spelled right is my freaking job. In truth, I'm beginning to think that my many typos on this board are a manifestation of my Jungian Shadow Self, the repressed part of my brain which deeply, deeply wishes not to be concerned with spelling, punctuation and grammer. I think I may need counseling.

I think that you're quite right about that.
Trudy, FWIW, I'd want to be able to discuss any and all main cast changes, because IMO they don't happen in a vacuum--I'd want to speculate about how any new characters would fit in with existing characters, and how the absence of any characters who might be leaving would impact the relationships of all the remaining ones, new and returning.
That is what the proposal is about, though -- changing the spoiler policy.
And the reason that it may be a problem, Steph, is that the spoiler policy may (and I believe it is) be non-changeable until Sept 20th under the current grandfather vote.
The spoiler policy was changed to reflect the Cross-Show Whitefont Rule. And that should not have happened under the grandfather rule. So, to get legalistic, there is precedent. And if the law shows I watch are any indication, precedent is valid to base a decision on.
I don't understand how it's about clarifying, and not changing, unless you're talking the de facto policy, not the de jure one.
That's exactly. Hopefully I can answer Trudy with this too.
The spoiler question in the FAQ is answered one way. It hadn't been challenged because we would still talk about stuff that was officially known or released (like, and I'm sorry if I'm harping on this but it really illustrates, for me, an example, the musical episode). I want to get back to where we were.
The flip side of that, Steph, is why can't y'all just wait to discuss it on the thread until it airs? Why does it really matter?
Kristen, I think that's a good idea. If we do end up deciding to make a change, that would be my preference.

And this is just why I'd prefer to wait until the promos come along. Because not all of the things that Susan wants to talk about are common knowledge. I know two of them - I believe that there is a least one more that would spoil me.
I fully understand why you want to talk about that, Susan. I do. And I understand that it must be frustrating for you to not have a place to go to talk about them (assuming that you do not go into spoilers for whatever reason).

So that makes you a 2. Some people just want to discuss the over the summer as they assert has been the precedent.
As a 3 I'd rather watch the show unfold

Not Steph, but I think it stiffles the speculation discussions we could be having. Or, what Susan said much better than I did.
