Woe to the fucking wicked.

Trudy, I don't think that that's the same thing, as there is nothing to forward-interpret, as there's nothing airing right now (in the US. I freely admit to being pretty unaware of schedules in other regions). There was one I knew before the end of the season, and wish I hadn't at that time. But, under the new policy, it would still have been considered a spoiler, as not-summer.

I don't know if that makes sense outside of my head, but, for me, the hiatus-state is key.

I fear the inappropriate spoiling (although I think safeguards can be instituted), but I get a strong feeling of elephant-in-the-room on one of them, and the other I guessed without being told (which is hopefully not too spoilery of a statement).

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don't know why you all can't just wait a month.

I seriously don't get it. Was I one of the lucky unspoiled right now, I'd be seriously pissed. Just knowing that someone this big is coming up would be enough to affect how I watched the first ep.

Actually, I WAS seriously annoyed before I found out Casting Elephant #1 and said so at the time. I found out anyway.

What I'm asking is will the now-not-spoiler be discussable in Natter?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Well, ASH going from regular to recurring? Was discussed.

It seems that both AA and JARs additions were, in fact, discussed.

I have no memory of when VK was added, or if it was discussed. We were prepping to come here.

This is one of the things that has slipped in, through our friend, the BC.

I'd be happy with a proposal saying "The Angel casting changes, having been announced by the WB, are not spoilers," but other people who are more positive that there will be a S6 than I am, want a more general proposal, so I'm fine with that too.

Well, we'll have a Wonderfalls thread (Minear is a Fluffy Bunny would be the BESTEST title). If that show lasts, I want to be able to discuss the regulars over the summer there, too.

Hell, I want to be able to discuss them now. And you know what? Technically, by the strict definition? Spoilers.

If there's ever a spin-off? Casting for that, too. Who's in, who's not. For REGULARS. BEFORE THE SEASON/SHOW STARTS.

It's pretty cut and dried.

So discuss them in Spoilers or Spoiler light.

Seriously, if Virgins can't enjoy the regular thread I want a Virgin thread. Goodness knows the Spoiler ho's have gotten their share.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I dunno, Robert. Knowing that the character Fred is coming on as a regular means I know the story line is going in a certain direction. Knowing about intent means I know about something that's going to happen in the future in the show reality. I don't know about the future in real life. I don't know that trauma or benevolence is going to happen to someone I'm interested in. So knowing something outside of the show reality, that affects the show reality, requires me to be thinking of the show as a show. While I'm watching the show. I'd rather be able to be immersed in fiction, baybee. You know? Other than that, I don't really know how to explain it. It's just the way I watch. Your viewing habits may vary.

How? By having things that were not spoilers before suddenly, and without actual discussion morphing into spoilers? This pissed me off when suddenly, because of Firefly, we had the Great NAFDA Discussion Schism. It pisses me off now, when people have, in the past, been able to discuss it, and now can't. Again. Without discussion. There was no clear decision made. It just didn't come up for a while, during which time, virgins got the upperhand.

We hos, well, we're used to courtesy. We watch our tongues. We don't discuss spoilers. We don't join in your speculation games, because that wouldn't be fair.

When it comes to a point where asking if NB's pilot was picked up has people screaming for white font or deletion, things have gone a bit too far. It's gone from courtesy to mollycoddling.

By having two threads created to suit them.

If the current standard is going to be changed the Virgins should be offered the same courtesy.

Well, at that point it was obvious from the none to clever hinting that: SOMEONE from Buffy was moving to Angel and eliminating Nick from the list made it that much shorter.

The context is relevant, it wasn't mollycoddling.

Thanks for all the fish.

And mostly, because at this point, the WB has announced the regulars for next season, and there are changes, and we will know about them and start talking about them before the season starts, it's just a matter of when. Regardless of you getting promos or not, we will, and they will be discussed. Before the first episode airs. Period.

To clarify - for the nth time - I'm not saying you can't discuss promos. That has always been the rule and I have no problem with it. Once it's in an aired promo it can be discussed. That's under the current rule.

When it comes to a point where asking if NB's pilot was picked up has people screaming for white font or deletion, things have gone a bit too far. It's gone from courtesy to mollycoddling.

Please show me where and when people were screaming about that. Because I recall the pilot mention happening well after people knew that season 7 was the last season. (edit) Ah, reading Trudy's post I see that something happened that I don't remember, but someone from BtVS moving to AtS should not have been mentioned in the NAFTA thread at all since it was (and is) a spoiler.

I agree with Trudy. If the NAFTA show threads are going to contain spoilers by our previously agreed upon definition - there needs to be some kind of pure thread.
