Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I'm not putting any language in the proposal that dictates what can and cannot be discussed on-thread.

Er, isn't that what we have in every thread's language except Natter? I mean, we're disobedient on a regular basis, but eventually we guiltily return to the subject at hand. The language of the thread's final proposal will create the mood of the thread, if/when it's created; and the mood at the thread's creation will affect who wants to subscribe to it; how people initially interact on-thread; and what topics people do and don't bring up (at first, anyway).

Also, Allyson, have you given any thought to candy's question about when the thread would be created? Do you intend that it be created immediately?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Er, isn't that what we have in every thread's language except Natter?

What I'm saying is, if someone happens to wonder if Tim was eating of the psychedelic mushrooms when he wrote an ep, that's not falling under refrigerator. We can dictate whether a thread is American or unAmerican, Natter or non-Natter, but other than that, I'm not putting language into "law" about whether one can ask if Tim is married, or if he wears socks with birkenstocks.

Also, Allyson, have you given any thought to candy's question about when the thread would be created?

I am still mulling it around, but my thought was that August would be good, since we'll be getting a lot more news about Fall teevee line-ups, and it could coincide with the consolidation or closing of threads.

But that's mulling. I've not thought more on it, because some asswipe thinks I should be doing work on the day before a long weekend, simply because I'm getting paid. The nerve.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

August is actually a very reasonable start date for the thread, as that's when the fall season goes into production. I can't swear by it, but Wonder Falls will also probably be shooting the first thirteen eps around then too.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

involving Tim Minear, including such projects as Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Wonder Falls.

Just a note. Tim's never, to my knowledge, written or directed BtVS.

Still would like to put Wonder Falls forward, as Angel and Firefly are covered well elsewhere on the site.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Hmm. And here I thought Tim came from Buffy. He's so integrated, it feels like he's always been with ME.

I don't know everything, that's why I have the Buffistas.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

After skimming, I have a question: Why not simply create an All-TV-Not ME thread? Tim's works would be in here, and, if the show is any good (not dissing Tim at all, but there's more than the writer to a good show), would probably take up a large portion of it. This could probably coincide with the closing of the Firefly and current-season Buffy thread (and Buffy Spoilage Lite), thereby actually freeing up space while creating a new thread. Will wonders never cease.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

There's been "consensus" in the past that we don't want a general TV thread. And since the grandpappy vote passed, we're not going to have one (at least until September).

I'm assuming that the voting will start Monday night? That's 4 days of discussion if you include today. Allyson, please confirm that's OK. As I will be in L.A. and not have easy access to a 'puter, DX will be watching my back and making any last-minute changes to the ballot.

Also, we'll need a volunteer vote counter.
