I believe we can move it to the voting stage earlier if no one has anything new to add.
I thought we specifically said we couldn't do this, on the theory that it might leave someone out of the process. I thought consensus was we could lengthen a discussion, but not limit it.
Not that I think it matters in this case; I'm just being a pedant.
Sorry I didn't respond. The answer to the question is that March 20th was the date I proposed it, and in that proposal I said "As from today". I figured that I got four seconds for the idea that as from March 20th there was a moratorium.
I missed this, thanks Betsy. Well I don't have anything further to discuss, but I guess I'm with the people who think discussion should stay open through the fourth day. And also that implies that although a final ballot has been posted, it
can
still be modified by Betsy, if she wants to, before the vote.

That's the same reason I got all stampy about the process even though I was too lazy to answer Betsy's question about when it would be proper to vote.
If we count the 16th as a full day, then we could go to vote midnight tonight. (Counting from Cindy's post in Press.) If not, midnight (or 2pm) tomorrow. I don't much care which way we go.
Voting should start either tonight (which would allow for four days of discussion if you include Friday's partial day) or tomorrow night (which would allow for four full days of discussion). For previous votes, it's been up to the proposer which way to go.
Why does voting have to start at night? Can't voting start at noon tomorrow or 2:00 p.m. tomorrow?
It
could,
but the ballot will be put up at night regardless of when the voting starts, because that's when I have time to post it. ;)

Heh, I forgot you were the mad midnight ballot poster what posts ballots at midnight.
Does anybody have a change they want made to the proposal? If not, we are niggling again over issues nobody has a stake in.
Speak now. Unless somebody offers a change to the proposal, I request a vote tonight.
How about this: we could open up voting tonight, and just keep it open until the end of seven day discussion-plus-voting timeline. Opening up the vote tomorrow night seems like bad timing anyway.
