Today we celebrate the birthday of hippocampus! I hope it is a wonderful day for you, and that you have a year filled with delight.
My cousin has been following the low FODMAP diet, and it's a real challenge. She is one of the healthiest people I know. She and her husband are in biking groups that travel frequently, undertaking extremely long bike trips. She has a large garden, bakes her bread, and has been a vegetarian as long as I can remember. Well into her 70s, she looks fantastic. However, she has a minimal list of foods she can eat. She tried adding a tiny quarter of a garlic clove with her allowed veggies, and was in horrific pain as a result. She is doing what she has to do because the pain is awful, but as someone who loves to grow her food and create in the kitchen, it is sad.
I’m sorry, askye, that sounds really frustrating
That’s a pretty tough list of restrictions, askye. I hope you are able to figure some satisfying easy meals to keep in your back pocket. For being something we all have to do constantly, keeping ourselves fed could be easier
Happy hippocampus day!
Definitely a challenge, askye. You may not need to meal plan everything in advance, but having a list of options for meals and snacks can be helpful. Eating the same thing every day for some meals and snacks may be easier at first before adding more options. Hang in there. It is good to know what you are dealing with at last!
Dietary restrictions like that always make me wish that Bachelor Chow was real.

Preach. Good luck with everything, askye.
Bachelor Chow would truly be a boon. Just for the (many) days when deciding what to have for dinner is Too Much!
Of all the Torment Nexxuses and reinventing the bus, why not Bachelor Chow?
I suppose maybe Soylent could have filled that niche, but not really
Hopefully I don't have to be on this limited diet forever.
There is a Trader Joe's about 30 mins from us so I think I'll check it out my next day off
Ive had some post nasal drip and sore throat which can be symptoms of acid reflux so I'm trying be kind of strict right now. I wasn't yesterday. Yesterday I had peaches and cream instant oatmeal for breakfast, peanut butter and an apple for a snack. For lunch I had rotisserie chicken and a microwave jasmine rice cup with frozen veggies that turned out to be an issue (I think it was the green beans, and a coconut milk yogurt. For snack I had another yogurt. Dinner M made Alfredo sauce but he only used about half and the rest was water , mixed veggies and sauteed chicken. He had it all separate the mixed veggies was mostly broccoli so I didn't get that but added handfuls of spinach instead. I only put in a few tablespoons of the sauce . And then I had a piece of multi grain bread for a snack
I went to Aldi yesterday to pick up some things like the bread and some grapeseed oil spray.
Today I had scrambled eggs (with the grapeseed oil) for breakfast, snack of celery , apple and peanut butter. And I'm about to have more jasmine rice and chicken with more of the celery . I'm not sure what dinner will be
The big thing I want to figure out is something with flavor to drink . This morning I ended up putting about a tablespoon of tea and then filled the glass with water and there was the faintest taste.
For lunch today I splurged on the "pit boss" meal from the nearest BBQ place that includes one specialty that every time I have gotten it before has been tacos. Today it's a quesadilla and YUM
That is all
