That's wonderful, sj! To excel in both language and math is impressive. You and TCG should be very proud.
Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
On the little verbal standardized tests shes has she's usually at the 97th or 98th percentile in verbal skills and 85th percentile in math skills. She definitely prefers to read, but she's still above average in math. The "committed to understanding" is the part I'm the most proud of because she can definitely have the tendency to not want to try things that don't come easy to her (which she definitely gets from me), and we've worked really hard to break her of that tendency.
I got an answer from their Facebook page, and the orchestra will still be having the Classical Roots concert, so at least there's that.
That is fantastic, sj. Good for ltc!
Great job, ltc!
I've been soaking up the fancy hotel life here, and I'm going from a full breakfast to lunch in an hour. So I'll probably have very little at lunch.
But I'll see some Kenyon people there before the service at 3pm. Then out of towners are invited to go to dinner with the family.
Tomorrow is the looser, Celebration of Life/Reception where I'll speak a little about Josh.
Then back very early on Monday morning.
David, I hope the warm and comfort of seeing old friends helps balance the sorrow.
Timelies all!
Laura, I wasn't hurt, just embarrassed. I ended up breaking off a few rows from the rack, and scattered earrings all over. Gary got me a new earring rack for Valentine's Day, but it needs to be assembled and he's been really busy lately.
Meanwhile, Mr. S is here for an overnight stay He told us yesterday on the phone that he was going to make a salad for today's lunch, and gave us a list of things to buy for it. He gets here today and decides he wants chicken for lunch. When will he make the salad? I don't know, and it's frustrating that he does stuff like this.
Go ltc!!
So M's cousin has moved back to our couch. He was getting in fights with who ever he was staying with. He keeps forgetting and starting to smoke. which is annoying. The house smells so much better since we banned smoking from the house.
Today I was petting Cheeto and I realized one of his front claws looks like it's torn out. I can't really tell how bad the damage is because he bite me and ran off.
I guess I'll be calling the vet on Monday .
I hate SalesForce for entirely other, local reasons.
I am in the process of convincing the baby (not a baby) that he doesn't need to be on The Boob for the entire time from 3AM till wake up about 6. He Disagrees.
Which is to say, I am too tired and too on a phone for a full meara, but I'm vibing hard for everyone
I stopped by at the Tesla Takedown event in Berkeley today. I wanted to be excited, but it was... so Berkeley. Surrounded by bougie shops (Restoration Hardware, Athleta, Lululemon), 150 or so white folks over 50 chanted and waved signs.
I mean, YAY that there are any protests at all? But I have the sense that at least half of those passing by had no idea what the protest was about, and the fact is that whoever is organizing these hasn't reached out to other communities. There are black folks in Berkeley, but they weren't there.
Signed, spent too much time in downtown Oakland during Occupy.
