Mal: How come you didn't turn on me, Jayne? Jayne: Money wasn't good enough. Mal: What happens when it is? Jayne: Well... that'll be an interesting day.

Thrive to spite them

Thanks dcp. I'll let them know. He won't be doing chemo. His wife passed away from breast cancer and after watching her experience he decided he wouldn't do chemo if he ever got cancer.

Actually he and my aunt had a big conversation about their relationship and what would happen if one of them got very sick (he is about 10 years older than her) and his kids will be taking on a lot of caregiving when it comes to that. My aunt has spent most of her adult life as a caregiver and her partner didn't want her to take that on again.

That sounds like they are well prepared, askye, but I’m sorry they have to go through it

Oh, Karl, that's very kind!

I have to make an appointment with someone I guess.

Today I was all excited because I thought we would be able to give my incoming hire a start date -- and instead I got an email indicating that all new hires are on hold and in order to get a waiver you have to go all the way to S1. Which is the former gov of SD who killed a puppy.

... I cannot even.

So instead I'm watching John Oliver and I ate a large piece of Guinness chocolate cake that my sister left for me.

Mr. Flea is feeling validated in his decision to take the Elon buyout by the announcement of the EPA Administrator’s plan to dismantle the entire Office of Research and Development.

And that’s only like the 5th most horrible piece of news this morning.

I thought of y'all when I saw that. Has he actually gotten anything from that, out of curiosity?

He worked his last day more than two weeks ago, completed off boarding paperwork, and sent back his ID and laptop. He is supposed to continue to be paid until September and so far (once) he has been paid as expected.

I just updated our Lego set spreadsheet and we have 61 sets. (It’s spring break, and the latest, the Endurance, has just been built.)
