Lydia: But you are a vampire. Spike: If I'm not, I'm gonna be pissed about drinking all that blood.

'Potential'

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good lord, Hil, that is appalling. Both of those.

In very mild good news - I may run out of Halloween candy in time to stock up on Valentine's Day candy. All the backstock in my drawer is out in the wee pot on my desk

The ones that had been removed were all the ones where any of the "Are you a member of any of these underrepresented groups?" boxes were checked.

Yeahhhhh because that’s subtle about the sexism and racism. Totes.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just keep singing everything is awful to the tune of “Everything is Awesome” in the Lego movie, and trying not to completely meltdown in front of ltc. My heart goes out to everyone with job insecurity right now. I noticed my friend in the foreign service no longer had a fb account.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Mischief Managed. Onerosity confronted and conquered.

Huzzah!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Looks like this is what's going on with the first-year STEM program. Howard Hughes Medical Institute pulled their funding. [link]

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Job~ma to Mr. Jen!

One of my senators joined some others to refuse cloture on one of Trump’s appointees. So I called him and thanked him for his efforts.

Tonight I went to a book group meeting at my new library. I met new people and talked about books. It was lovely! I’m glad I’m closer to family and seeing much more of them, but it was nice to talk to people who aren’t family for a change.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

E-filed my tax returns this evening. The Federal return was accepted in 4 minutes. The state return took an hour and fifty-five minutes.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I started my return, but I’m not sure if I have my 1099s or whatever.

I froze my credit reports, a suggestion I’ve seen a couple of times now that our data is potentially compromised.

I also saw it suggested to open a new bank account and close previous account associated with tax refunds, but I haven’t done that yet.

I don’t wanna tomorrow.

Now tagless for your comfort.

job~ma for Mr Jen.

Mr Cashmere did pick up a stocker job at a local grocery store—more to get out of the house than anything else. He continues searching/interviewing for actuary jobs. Not a bunch of places hiring at his level. He might look for an analyst position instead . He’s too experienced for those jobs and most employers want someone who can commit to 10 years rather than someone who will be coasting into retirement in 6-8 years.

Wonder how they will spin the unemployment numbers when the tens of thousands of federal employees Russell Vought sacks file.

I know, it will be Biden’s fault.

My job continues to be awesome and a refuge. I am lucky.

David, Matilda’s trip gives me such joy! I am hanging on to little things like this.
