And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Benign, hooray!

Anyone else feeling surprised to be so absolutely fucking pissed off about an ERA ratification announcement? I (a) did not expect such an announcement to ever happen and (b) definitely did not expect to be so mad about it (because it's like...not real, has no actual legal consequences, and will 100% be ignored by the new guy as of Monday fucking afternoon.)

Wanderlog is great!!

Yay benign!

At some point I need to replace my water heater, but it seems like something I should get multiple quotes for or something and that feels like effort. And probably it’ll break and I’ll have to do it emergency style and pay way too much. And yet.

ND, 4am meetings are heinous!! I’d be like “how bout you call me your end of day and we plan for tomorrow” because anything I told them at 4am might not be true because I’d only be a tiny bit awake.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I do not see why he wasted his breath.

I'm pretty fucking angry at the way the Biden administration wasted its (admittedly narrow) window to at least TRY to fix shit that TFG had shown was broken. They could have pushed the reform of SCOTUS, to enforce ethics rules on federal employees, to protect access to the vote. They could have made those issues important to the electorate.

And they could have FUCKING ADVERTISED the wins they got! But they were too "classy" to tell people about the hundreds of millions of dollars that will be spent in their communities as a result of the IRA and other initiatives.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hooray for benign!

I have not figured out how to react to the ERA ratification thing. In fact, I am starting to think that the Dean showing up in pajamas that would have been appropriate last episode is a good metaphor for the announcement.

Always Anti-fascist!

Jessica, Consuela, yeah, though the announcement makes me glad, I know people that wanted that for YEARS. Good news, msbelle.

Drain clogged on the way out of the house... plumber working on it now. Could be fixed tonight, or he may need to come back tomorrow. If not fixed tonight, we have to go to a hotel, because, you know, indoor plumbing and all.

Send me some spare "fixed tonight vibes" if you can, please.

With the amount of international meetings I have to do at times I'm just happy when we can make them somewhat close to normal business hours here.

The Europeans get off so fricken easy let me tell you.

YAY YAY YAY for benign!

Thrive to spite them

Yay benign. And for planning the Tokyo trip.

I'm tired.

Penny went back to the vet yesterday and her UTi is gone . They suggested monthly shots for her arthritis but I'm holding off until her thyroid levels are retested. She seems to be doing well with the gabapentin and if she needs thyroid medication I need to focus on that.

M actually took her to the vet, he took me to work and then picked me up. We went to dinner after and then the pet store for the litter we switched to. We saw super cute guinea pigs. And a very inquisitive ferret (the others were asleep).

Oh reminds me - colonoscopy done and clean. A few benign polyps removed, come back in three years.
