But it did at least resolve the question that my chair creaking was in fact an earthquake, and not the mouse I thought it was.

I think everyone is well out of the potential impacted zones, at least here in the city. I'm not sure of those south of us. Time of impact is forecast for 12:10 in SF.

I'm glad the tsunami turned out to be a dud -- I recently watched the National Geographic channel multi-night documentary on the big Indonesian tsunami, which is now like 20 years back. Holy cow!
We had just enough snow in Boston last night that I had to brush my car windows off, but the sidewalks and roads were clear. Just enough to be pretty and not a bother.
