Thrive to spite them

So the co founder of The Federalist wrote a ....scathing is not the right word..he tore Matt Gaetz to shreds in his substack.

[link]

Choice quotes are : "His eyes are permanently rimmed with the red rings of chemical boosters. In person, he smells like overexposed Axe Body Spray and stale Astroglide. "

And "There are pools of vomit with more to offer the earth than this STD-riddled testament to the failure of fallen masculinity."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awwww, yeah, that's the stuff. Pure vitriol, accurately deployed.

Always Anti-fascist!

Even if agreeing with anyone at the Federalist makes me want to scrub for days...

Erika I don't want to agree with him either but it makes it somehow more viscous coming from an arch conservative.

Also, I hadn't realized how loathed Matt Gaetz was by Republicans

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah, I agree on both counts. (Once I stopped scrubbing. my brain.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

EM came by this morning and we sorted through papers for two hours.

I didn't get to run before she came, though, as a had a writing deadline to address. But I got that done, so now I have a small to-do pile to face and dishes to put away and laundry to fold.

Otherwise that's productive enough for today. Well...maybe I'll cook a frittata.

Hard to believe Thanksgiving is a week from Thursday! I've got to order a turkey!

adds "order turkey" to the to-do list

We're expecting heavy rain to start hitting us tomorrow with an "atmospheric river" that will last days. Then more next week.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm still at my sister's for a few days. In an attempt to get back to my daily gym schedule that I was on up north I have gone to a couple gyms here the last couple days. Did a muscular development class yesterday and an aqua fit class today. So many participants! A dozen or so in each class. The two gyms have enough going on to have options every day.

Brendon said I don't want to come home because they are resurfacing the parking lot and the noise is beyond disruptive.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My mom called me on Saturday to make our Thanksgiving plans because my dad was scheduled for cataract surgery on Monday and she figured she wouldn't want to have to do a lot of thinking and planning this week. We decided we're want a turkey if she can find one that isn't huge - they are both mostly vegan but we have been making exceptions for Thanksgiving for the last few years ostensibly so I can have turkey but they both have some, too and largely so we can all enjoy making turkey soup and have our stuffing actually in the bird. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago they were trying to donate a turkey to one of the nonprofits my dad volunteers at who had asked for whole turkeys and they went to several grocery stores looking for one and couldn't find any! Just turkey breasts. So hopefully that was just a timing thing and we aren't in for a great turkey shortage.

I am having a Friendsgiving sandwich for lunch from Ike's Love and Sandwiches which is turkey and stuffing and cranberry and sriracha - a bit more sriracha forward than I was expecting but still quite tasty

I know I am totally unprepared for the atmospheric river but I'm not doing anything about it. Shrug.

Re: the Federalist and all that - still feel weird about being on the same side of anything as Dick Cheney, so, yeah
