"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, Sheryl. I’m so sorry that happened to you.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Even if I were able to get through security with no ID, I’d have to take a taxi from the airport because I don’t have my car keys. I don’t have any way to pay for it.

Punishingly Intricate

I guess if you don’t already have Apple Pay or Google Wallet (or Lyft/Uber) set up already you can’t do it without access to your card number.

Our wings are not tired.

I expect you have canceled your cards, but Gary should be able to order a Lyft or whatever for transportation. Was he meeting you there, Sheryl? What a mess.

Thrive to spite them

I discovered today that I've managed to rub holes in the heels of a pair of my Hokas. I had switched out the insoles for some new ones but they weren't that great and they kept sliding around. I think when I was walking and I'm not sure how but I ended up rubbing holes in them. Right through the lining and then padding.

Either that or when I was soaking them in water and oxi clean the oxi clean ate just through that part. So I can't wear them. I have another pair but I really like to switch my shoes fairly often. I was going to buy a third pair but now I'll have to get a replacement. I had them for only a year . Frustrating but they weren't my favorite pair. They have a pair made for work with slip resistance soles that I may get this time and see how I like them.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Given that left to my natural inclination, I'd wear out my favorite pair of shoes by wearing them every.damn.day, I've taken to having three pairs that I religiously switch between. I also don't want to track much outside dirt into the house, so I switch into slippers when I come in the front door, so they can get lined up and I know which pair gets used next.

I have to set these little habit traps for myself, or else I'd literally eat the same thing every day, wear t-shirts until they're in shreds, reread the same books...

Our wings are not tired.

99% of the time I wear sandals, but when I wore real shoes I found having the best socks made a real difference. Brendon goes through shoes at 10x the rate I do because he is huge, but having a rotation helps a lot.

Today, we celebrate aurelia's birth! I hope this day brings nothing but joy and delight. May this year be everything you desire and more.
