Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The week wasn't too bad(other than Mr. S not going to bed until almost 10 most nights) but this weekend...ugh. He had a meltdown Friday night with much pushing things around/off tables. He woke us up around 6 Sat. morning.(How is it that the kid who has to be dragged out of bed Mon-Fri is up bright and early on the weekends?)Dinner out with Gary's mom was ok, although Mr. S didn't like what he ordered and got fussy about it until I gave him the rest of my dinner.(I was full at that point) The three of us went to "Dino Safari" which was fine until it was time to leave, when he had another meltdown. At some point last night he came into our bedroom and slept on the floor.

I ended up waking up a few times before I finally got out of bed. I am sleepy and cranky.

Man, Sheryl, I'm sorry. I hope you can line up a new therapist and they can provide some help.

I'm trying not to get complacent, but the shift in the political vibes in the last week has been astonishing. It's like people just wanted something to vote FOR, instead of just AGAINST. Who knew?

It's weird looking at Harris, though. She's exactly my age, and I'm just looking forward to a retirement, I would not want to take on a challenging new job at this point. The one I have is hard enough. Bully for her for having the energy, I guess!

My new dog is a handful. She has ALL the prey drive, and enormous focus. So if she sees a cat anywhere in view, she won't pee or poo in the yard or on a walk. It's a real hassle since there are plenty of loose cats in my neighborhood. She also loves to destroy soft toys, and chews hard toys too hard. I'm going to spend a lot of money on dog toys...

That said, she's very smart and learning quickly; she just finds it hard to remember what she learned when there is another dog or a cat nearby.

Yay, msbelle! I need to knock out my daily postcards before I leave for the movie. About to do that now... except doggo is so comfortable lying on my lap.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am VERY MUCH enjoying all the talk of how YOUNG she is!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heh -- Harris is younger than I am. I still have some vim in my health tank, thank goodness. At least with 4 years of veeping under her belt, she has a very good idea of just how stressful the job will be.

Last week I was talking to two of the Front Desk receptionists, who really are the point persons for all resident matters, so I stay on their good sides, as well as they're very nice people! Anyway, somehow age came up, and I was mildly astounded to find out that both of them are within a year of my age -- I'd have given them a good ten years younger. We ended up agreeing that we're all doing quite well, especially because many of our residents aren't all that much older.

I know!

Just came back from a big first-birthday party for my great-nephew and another baby. Must have been 40-50 people there, and I think I got a bit too much sun. But I have leftover hamburgers to use as training treats, and leftover cupcakes, and leftover salad. So I don't have to make dinner tonight or maybe even lunch tomorrow.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I can't help wondering if anyone in the Republican party realizes that the ultimate childless cat lady is Taylor Swift. Is J.D. Vance going to take on the Swifties? (or, more likely, vice versa)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hasn't that already happened? Not Vance, but somebody saying Swift was a bad role model because she doesn't have kids. And I have heard that Swift concerts are full of GOTV outreach

Seems early for pumpkin spice, but only by a little.
