"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Anyway, I'm calling it Turkey Tomato Stroganoff, and it is damn tasty!

Yay for Turkey Tomato Stroganoff! Boo on contract non-renewal!

It's a glorious day in San Francisco and once Matilda is forcibly evicted from her bed we'll clean the Guinea Pig cage.

I'm feeling beset by mortality. My FB memories are all on an inevitable track into the darkest timeline. Still feeling sad about Cupid's death (the dog we frequently dogsat). And my friend Josh, who was such a help and support during Jacqueline's cancer treatment, looks like he's nearing the end after five years of cancer treatment. We discussed the realities of hospice when I called him.

Still, it was a good call with all the lashings of black humor we've always had in our friendship. I'm going to talk to his wife about all the transition issues that come up. His daughter is Matilda's age.

This is the case. Also, there will be much more interest in an election season that a large percentage wasn't paying attention to. Yes, there may be some who come out to vote against her, but if they are that passionately bigoted they were already going to vote for Trump. There are a lot more people who were completely numb to the election that now have a choice they can get behind.
This is where my head is, too.

Hugs, Hec. I've been thinking about you.

Our wings are not tired

David, really thinking of you. The weight of our fragile mortality has been so ever-present for you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good vibes for your DH, JenP. I have been known to make ketleti substituting turkey for beef and V8 for milk so I feel like I must support Turkey Tomato Stroganoff

Mortality needs a timeout. Or something.

Things that happened the past week:

-Our tankless water heater died (it has been threatening to do so for two years but is really dead now), and we have to move it outside the house because the current one is vented completely wrong, so that's about $7800 between the new tankless heater and all the replumbing and removal. We will finance it, but sheesh.

-I went to the eye doctor to see why the corneal abrasion in my eye won't heal, and she diagnosed me with shingles. In my EYE. Which hurts a lot, for the record. So I'm starting the treatment immediately and have to cancel the colonoscopy I was supposed to have Thursday and the trip home to see my mom and extended family I was supposed to take this weekend.

-If I don't get an offer by the end of the month, my realtors recommended I take Dad's condo off the market until October and then try again. Money woes tmi.

-Newton, our middle dog, has to have two small tumors removed Wednesday.

-Kaylee, our old lady, is declining. Not sure how much time she has left.

It has been a lot. I'm doing okay and we will get through it -- not looking for solutions or anything -- but man.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got back from Buffalo last night. Mr. S was discharged from the hospital on Friday, and stayed with the nanny over the weekend. We have referrals to various therapists for him. Let's see how it goes.

Oh, and thank you all. I needed the dose of positivity over recent events. Another forum I lurk at has a lot of people crying doom(mostly people who didn't want Biden to drop out- and they are blaming the posters who did) and it stresses me out. I know it's not going to be an easy road, but let's not give up yet.

Yikes, Kristin! That is a whole lot of lot.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Pix, that is way too much for you to deal with, coming on the heels of everything you and Drew have had to deal with in the past year. I want your life to get very very boring and for your health to be good and your money to stay in your bank account, very very soon.
