I'm a really freaked out about what the reaction and response of Trump supporters is going to be. I've been worried that if he died of natural causes or from an accident it would fuel conspiracy theories and bad behavior. I never wanted him to be assassinated because that would make him a martyr. So this is just....yeah I'm not feeling great about his supporters are going to react.
Am I being dramatic?

Not dramatic, but I don't think it will trigger anything materially horrific in response. I'm honestly aghast at my glib response. Normally I'd be horrified by such a thing. I've lost some of my humanity these past years. Or, at least, it doesn't extend the way it used to.

I keep feeling like this is one more plot point in a prequel to a dystopian/post apocalyptic story that shows how things to got to be the dystopian/post apocalyptic nightmare that everyone loved to read about (but no one actually wants to be a part of in reality)

His fund raising emails and scams are going to go through the roof. I'm sure someone is going to spin this as proof that he's is God's Anointed One.
Although in one of the IG reels I watched there were a lot of people who were making comments that it was fake/staged (by Trump to make him look more sympathetic)...mostly based on people's reactions in the background and also Trump raising his fist and that the Secret Service didn't have him off the stage quicker. And claiming that no one was injured. Although the reports now are that a rally attendee died and someone else is in critical condition.
And that the shooter is dead.
