Our wings are not tired.

From Press, yes I see that Bridget has passed. I shared a seat with her on a bus ride to something at the SF F2F. This is very sad news. Too young.

I hate that being honest about, like, my disabled life or what's really wrong with the safety net(Social workers aren't protective the way people imagine, in my experience, at least) make abled women strangers bust out the sad emojis. (I mean. I guess it is sort of sad, some people really do need that sort of protection and support, and they don't get it either, but for me, it's like "Wow, let's get a time machine and warn President Gore that sometimes these people are just neurotic, paper-pushing pinheads." It's hard enough to face these things yourself without having to cope with the end of their "America leaves nobody behind," illusions, too. (Not that I posted the pinhead assessment on an acquaintance's page, or anything. And I am sorry that the person handling my file is, well, not someone I'd call with any other option, ever. But it doesn't help to have a stranger feel sad about it.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, that's very sad about Bridget. I saw her fairly often over the years as she would come in to SF from Sacramento. Though I don't know that I've seen her since the pandemic.

When I worked downtown we'd have lunch when she came into The City.

That's so young to die by a stroke.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I've barely seen her in person, just at the F2F I think, and I don't think I even posted with her much here, somehow, but we got to be pretty friendly on FB. Shocked and sad.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Aw man. Bridget.

It was nearly a week later, and she was far too young - but there goes our third fabulous soul.

I once asked her why she'd moved to Minneapolis. She said that when you grow up in North (iirc) Dakota, that's the big city. It was a perspective I'd never considered before. Then she went on to San Francisco, then Sacramento. She took the world by leaps and bounds.

I'm sorry to hear that. Although I can't say that being in this world right now feels like such a bonus, but she won't get to see if we make it better, either--the loss of possibility is also part of what's hard, right? And I know one day I'll be looking for her thoughts on my socials and have to relearn this all over again.
