My brother is kind of semi estranged from mom and dad. He did talk to Mom and she told me they did and she sounded positive. Then I talked to him and he said she managed to say things she thought were positive but hurt . So....families are complicated.

I have a cold. I'm at work because I fucked around with my PPTO and also missing some days and not claiming them right (and being late) so I have too many points to stay home.

However frequently using saline spray for my nose seems to have helped a lot. At least I don't feel as congested as yesterday and I'm not groggy from cold medicine.

So I want to focus on oral histories and testimonies. I've been listening to and taking oral history interviews for years now.

That's so cool. My cousin interviewed my grandmother before she died and I have an MP3 of it.

Fascinating to hear stories about her growing up in the early 1900s. When she was 12 she snuck a joy ride on her brother's horse!

I interviewed my grandma for Women's Studies...it was one of the few times I thought we really communicated. (And not just because I got to set the tone a little, although that didn't hurt. I think she liked being thought of as ahead of her time, too) I think about that kind of stuff when people get going about how useless the liberal arts and gender studies are.Especially since being in class with Krysten Sinema isn't a cool story anymore...she was on, like, her fourth degree at the time, another thing about her I didn't realize till much later.

I had somw stranger leave some rude comments on some.posts I had public from 2017 and I think before. I made a half sarcastic "I'm confused why did you do do this?" And 2 people came to my defense and explained he was trolling. Which I knew. I jist wanted to see how he wpuld react.

Silence. So I was kind of bored and messaged him asking why he hadn't responded if he wanted attention because I wanted to help him. And he said I clearly didn't want the attention and I was being weird and to leave him alone. I probably shouldn't have but... I mostly wanted to know if he would give a reason or try to justify what he did.

Well, let's hope Faith doesn't lose her three. Got some unwanted help from a neighbor and now the ramp outside my door looks great and our sidewalk outside is swept. which is fine, I guess, but who cares what that looks like? Nobody told me that coming into midlife would feel like a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" so much of the time. only I can't act like Larry ever, even when I most feel like it. And, it's so stupid--we bought them a gift to thank them for doing this thing we don't care about.(They're the kind of off-balance Christian it's, like, better to stay on the good side of.) But the flip side of being called to beautify something is that you thought it was an eyesore that maybe you couldn't stand to look at for one. more. instant. and I don't really need *that* thought in my head, either, argh. It really does look nice, but it probably won't last, and it's annoying being two punches on someone's Heavenly Frequent Flyer Miles.
