But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

Today I go for the first three of five MRIs of my back and hips

My hip MRI is tomorrow; MRI solidarity!

We've all known each other long enough that we've gone from posting about corsets to posting about MRIs, and I think that's beautiful.

I find it annoying and very slightly amusing that laying in the MRI tube for 40 minutes made my back spasm. Mmmmmmm, lidocaine patches, my beloved.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Whoever invented lidocaine patches should be canonized. Whether they are Catholic or not. This stuff deserves a St. prefix.

I had the MRI of my hip at 7 this morning and the results by 8:15. In layman’s terms, the results are HOLY SHIT THAT IS FUCKED UP.

Okay, there’s significant cartilage damage and for sure a labral tear with a paralabral cyst full of synovial fluid. Next step is to get in with an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip preservation (ie, arthroscopic repair rather than full joint replacement).

There is such a sense of relief in having diagnostic confirmation that there's a for-real problem that needs intervention, and I'm not just whining about a minor thing.
